How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I was working for a great aussie technology company, great place to work great people. I decided to run my business,  I like people wanting to work with you and for you because you are a good leader and mentor, not out of fear, which is how they operated. I decided to split and create ST computer services and have never looked back.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I will never forget the day I walked into this lovely ladies house and she had tears in her eyes. Her hard disk crashed and she thought she had lost all her precious memories as she had not backed up the photos, especially those of her child's christening. Two hours later I was able to phone her and tell her that we had recovered her data. It was like she won the lottery , she was so excited and grateful.

Every day is different. It's so rewarding walking in to someone's house or business and helping them resolve their issues and removing their frustration. We get it, technology can be frustrating, and that's where ST steps in and helps

The customer needs to determine the following: 1) Can I trust this person, after all I am entrusting my precious memories and possible business information 2) Is this person knowledgeable, 3) Can I understand them, do they communicate well 4) Are they good at what they do and are their prices reasonable

Without doubt the most asked question is Why did I get a virus when I have anti-virus software !! No matter what anti-virus package you run, it may miss something. Different packages may miss different things, but there doesn't seem to be a single package you can count on to catch everything. So it's possible to still get infected even though you're anti-virus tools are completely up to date

At ST Computer services we try very hard to let the customer know up front what they will pay. In some circumstances this is not possible however. In these circumstances we will provide a troubleshooting fee which allows to come up with a quote and if the customer agrees, this fee is taken off the price, otherwise the customer simply pays the fee and we return the computer

My pricing is competitive because of the value it offers. I do not want customers who don't realise this and simply want the cheapest price. Fix it right the first time. In the long run this will be of more value to the client.

If I am familiar with the problem or have seen it before I offer a fixed price. Customers prefer this given they know up front what they have to pay. ST specialises in virus removal and data recovery services. Most computer repair centres and technicians take the easy path, by re-formatting your computer rather than trying to remove the virus. By removing the virus your data is safe and the programs do not require to be re-installed, saving you time and money.
