How did you decide to get into your line of work?

For as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a designer. My career started as a professional musician followed by gaining a PhD in Change Management and working as a consultant. But once I had my kids I decided to take the plunge and start my business and I've never looked back. I love what I do!

What do you like most about your job?

Most of the people we work with already know what they like but they lack the confidence in how to put everything together in their homes. I love to come in and pass on my design knowledge to empower people to take control of the styling of their homes so that next time they can do it themselves!

Q: Where should I shop? A: We can help you via our design services or we offer our supplier list on our website for a fraction of the cost.  Q: How much does it cost to hire a designer? A: Less than you might think, which you often make back via access to our trade discounts.

With a PhD in Change Management and a background in corporate consulting, Director, Clare Le Roy, treats all jobs like they are her own home. We are punctual, professional and unpretentious. We help you make the design process fun and enjoyable and help you bring your home to life.

The Little Design Corner are highly experienced and affordable. Our passion is interiors and styling but we blend this with high levels of functionality. We are experienced working with all budgets and project sizes and specialise in creating beautiful family homes.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

1. what you want to do (the scope) - which rooms, what you need done, are you buying new furniture/art, what you like already in the home. 2. your budget (the real budget not the one you think we might want to hear!). 3. the time frame you are hoping to have things done in.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. Cut out pictures and images you like and create a mood board to get your started. This will really help when you meet a designer 2. If you see a room in a magazine find out where the pieces are from and copy it! 3. Grab a copy of our supplier list and shop where we shop (available on our website)

Most of our clients do not have huge budgets and spending money on an interior designer can feel like a luxury. But the investment made with us often pays itself back via access to our supplier trade discounts and through our expertise in showing you how to mix high and low end pieces.

How we charge depends on the size and scope of the project, however in most instances we work on an hourly rate.

We work with all budgets and project sizes but our area of expertise is in making our clients' budgets go as far as they can. We help our clients work out where to spend money and where to save, without sacrificing design impact.
