How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips
If it's a repair the more information they give the roofer the better as will help him isolate the leak or problem area which will enable him to give an accurate quotation.
If it's a new roof then do your home work; spend some time educating your self about the type of roof you want.
Check out the company or the roofer doing the work; ask for the quote in writing with a guarantee. You can also get onto the Department Of Fair trading to check them out.
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
I've been in the roofing game for over 20 years with a proven track record and hundreds of happy customers.
If I can't fix it I won't quote it.
If I have tried to fix it and can't I'll refund your money.
What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
Are you a licensed roofer.
Do you have all your insurances.
Will you give a written quotation and a guarantee.
How soon can you do the work.
Are the roofers you employ qualified roofers a s well.
What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy the variety of my work and being outside.
One day I'll be on a roof the next day running around doing quotations the next day in the office catching up on admin.
I also have the ultimate excuse not to go to work when it rains.
What makes your pricing competitive?
We are not a large roofing company so we don't have the overheads that some other companies; have yet we can still offer the same service. As a result of this we can be quite competitive.
On the other side of the coin we're not the cheapest roofers in town 'but we're not the most expensive.
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
I'm a licensed metal tile and slate roofer. Most roofers only have one license.
To get a roofing license does require several years full time experience and then you have to do a written and practical exam and be fully checked out before the Department of Fair Trading will issue you your license,
Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
I've been roofing for over 20 years with many happy customers.
At the end of the day the customer has to feel comfortable and confident in the Tradesman the're employing and I like to think we can give the customer that.
Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
While I'm a licensed metal, tile and slate roofer and I do both repairs and re roofs after 20 years of working around the inner city on some very old houses I've gotten quite good at locating leaks and doing the necessary repair work.
How do you normally charge for your service?
I don't work on an hourly or a square metre rate.
I will come out do a full inspection of the roof and problem areas and give you a free detailed written quotation and guarantee on the work required along with some photos of the roof areas and a fixed price on the entire work.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
Full details of the job, specifically where are the leaks coming in; does it leak all the time, in heavy or light rain, when it's windy etc.
The more information you can provide the better this will assist in providing a detailed quotation.
Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?
Not a specific one; but the best ones are when you've fixed a leak that has been ongoing for some time and the customer is very frustrated with the problem and despite others trying to fix it and then I come along and solve the problem.
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
I started as a labourer and quite enjoyed it. I've also always been an outdoor person and I like heights.
One day I realized I could do this on my own and make the money for me instead of the boss.
So now I'm the boss.
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
