Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

I give three months guarantee on my work and I also take care of the 1 year manufacturers warranty for new hardware I installed to fix your computer.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I will be honest: most HR departments don't employ people over 50 - especially in IT. This is because we "oldies" have seen it all and will call BS when some young dynamic smartie comes up with it. So I decided to not expose myself to the pain anymore and work relaxed at my own pace and rules.

Haha, good one. At the age of over 50 I appreciate to work in my own business from my own workshop without any 9-5 policy. I love to fix computers for people while having a pleasant chat and giving away some free advice :-)

I have been 25 years in the industry, have worked for the government, carry a current baseline security clearance and a current police check. For my business I heavily rely on word of mouth, so I will always do my best to get positive feedback.

I'm a professional who learned his business from scratch, accompanied by the appropriate formal education. 25 years of experience in industry and government positions as well as service providers are now available to work for you at affordable prices.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

- kind of computer (desktop, laptop) - operating system (Windows, OSX, Linux) - describe the problem as good as possible - try to list things which were unusual before the problem occurred (e.g. power outage)

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

PLEASE do not try to follow any tips on YouTube or such when you do not know what exactly they are doing - you could make the problem worse and therefore the fix more expensive. If you have done so already, please let me know beforehand rather than let me find out and please point me to that advice.

Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?

Oneflare clients get a basic rate of $40 for the outcall which includes the first hour of work. Subsequent hours are $40 and are counted per full 30 minutes. (My normal rate for other customers is $45/hr)

What makes your pricing competitive?

While I might not be the one with the lowest rates, for the money you can expect prompt and fast service and, more importantly, High Quality fixes. My prices include a 3 months warranty on the fix and I maintain a *No fix - No charge* policy.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I have a *No fix no charge* policy. My standard hourly rate is $45, I charge per 30 minutes. However, in most cases I have a look at the work and then I give you a fixed quote for the lot you can rely on.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I'm specialising in computer installation, maintenance and repairs and  and in network installation and maintenance. I'm an Open Source Software specialist, so if you are interested to skip license costs but want a working office/graphics/sound/video computer I'm your man to consult.

I'm a certified Siemens computer technician and I'm a Bachelor (Hons) in computer science. Add 25 years of experience in Australia and overseas.
