Have all your usernames & passwords at hand but keep them private unless needed. 3. Present a current itinerary of your infrastructure. 4. Be as transparent as possible. Don't be embarrassed by something you may have done. Even the best of us have made a boo boo at times. 5. Make sure there is physical access to all areas of the network. 6. Don't make it worse. Again we suggest that you shop around. If you want to get your pc fixed cheaply and don't mind dropping it off and waiting, then the high streets can offer you this.  Alternatively you might prefer that Turquoise IT comes to you. We do the job there and then and can offer an insight to how to better your systems.  Your data doesn't leave your premises unless it's a hard drive issue. If this is the case we prefer to advise you to send off to a specialist company.  Hard drives are practically fragile and the more attempts to even assess it can lead to further damage. So do it once and do it right.
