Yes i am insured for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance, My work is 100% guaranteed, as i triple check everything i do. If i make an error i rectify it at no charge as it was my error

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I actually went to TAFE to get some administration skills, but the woman said i would be wasting my time as business want young admin girls for cheap labour (I was 24 at the time).  She asked if i ever thought of accounting, i wasnt really sure if it was me so said ok ill give it a go.  2 weeks into my Cert III i was in love with it, my husband called me the teachers pet because i would get really good comments on my assignments and always got top marks.  Once I started you couldn't stop me!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

One day one of my customers, a lovely Italian gentleman came up to me and gave me a huge hug. When i asked what was that for, he said you have saved me $1000 a year that i no longer have to pay the accountant for.  I felt great that i had done that, because that is my whole aim to save you money and help you build a flourishing business.  I saved him $1000 by setting the books up properly, as previously the books were so unorgansied that the accountant would spend hours deciphering figures between farming and residential rentals for 27 properties for tax purposes.  Now it takes him no more than an hour as he only needs to use the P&L to get these figures.  As i split the cost between accounts so it was clear as to what was for what, all the way down to the fuel, electricity, water etc.

What do you like most about your job?

I like Everything as Finances is my passion, i love working with numbers. When asked do i like what i do, and i tell them i love it with a passion and you always see a smile on my face. Some people say to me you must be mad to love your job sooo much, so i guess i am mad becasue i truely love every aspect of my job.  I love a challenge, i think it keep you on your toes. I look forward to my regular seminars, my husband will say in the morning when i head off to a seminar "have fun at your seminar', and then chuckles as he says he's never known someone to love going to seminars like i do.  You need to love what you do to work in this type of industry, otherwise you will just struggle from day to day with all the challenges that arise.  When i have nothing to do (which is almost never) or am stuck at the hospital awaiting day surgery for a family member, I will take my bookkeeping/accounting books with me to read, i get asked dot you read magazines (boring i say).  At least i know i am always up to date with changes

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

1st and foremost ask to see proof of BAS agent registration, never accept a bookkeeper who doesn't have registration or you and your business could end up in hot water with the ATO.  Never take on a bookkeeper offering really cheap rates, they are more than likely very dodgy. Remember its your future you will be putting in there hands, and you only get what you pay for.

Q.Do you charge by the hour or do you have a fixed rate  A.I charge an hourly rate as i feel charging a fixed price for certain BAS Services does not work, as every business is unique with different needs and requirements.

I believe everyone deserves to make a dream a reality, I genuinely want to help save your hard earned money for you and help you build a business that will flourish. I don't like to see people taken advantage of for someone else's own benefit, I believe in Karma it will come back and bite you some day.  Just like your business i want mine to flourish too, that's why i treat my clients and there business with the same respect and privacy that i want for me

I'm honest, reliable and don't beat around the bush. If i feel something you are doing may jepardise the business financially, i will bring this to your attention and help you in anyway i can to help turn it around for you.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

I have a checklist that i sit down with the client and go through, it goes through all the common questions required to determine what is involved with the business. Examples are: Business names/address/ABN & whether registered for GST or not, whether they are on accrual or cash basis for tax purposes, whether they have staff and one of the most important questions is what they are wanting from me. As some business just want you to deal with the compliance only while they do the data entry etc, and others want to hand the reins over to me completley

I charge an hourly rate as every business has different needs, so i feel charging for the production of a certain service is not the best money conscious option to my clients.

I specialise in Small Business - Sole-Traders/Partnerships, these are the people/business who need the help the most.  I enjoy working directly with my clients, and building a strong business relationship that makes them feel confident in what i am doing for them. Seeing the smiles on there face or the gratitude when they are able to achieve what they started out to do, is the best achievement in my business for me. Whereas in a big company you are just another contractor getting paid for your time, your hard work and results tend to go unnoticed and theirs no satisfaction in that for me.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

CERT III and CERT IV in Financial Services (Accounting) + CERT IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping). I attend regular seminars to keep me up to date with legislation changes and compliances.
