The house is on a slope, and a previous water leak has been identified and fixed, but the ground remains damp. Scope of Work: 1. Demolition: Remove and dispose rotted timber sleepers and vertical timber posts. 2. Excavation: Minor excavation (approx. 150mm200mm deep/wide) behind each step to allow for drainage. 3. Installation: Install 200mm high Concrete Sleepers (slotted into galvanized steel posts or secured with masonry anchors). 4. Drainage: Install a 100mm socked AG pipe at the base of the tiers and backfill the void behind each sleeper with 20mm drainage gravel (Blue Metal) to manage hill runoff. 5. Finishing: Re-set any loose brick treads using landscape adhesive. Materials (To be discussed): I intend to pay for materials separately (or reimburse with receipts) to keep the task focused on labor. Please provide a rough estimate of the quantities needed in your offer. Requirements: Must have a wet-cut demo saw with a diamond blade to cut concrete sleepers to size. Experience with retaining wall drainage is essential. Photos of the stairs are attached. Location: Buderim, QLDJob Description: I recently discovered a water leak at my property in Buderim during the recent heavy rain. I had a plumber attend and investigate, and after checking the plumbing they advised that the issue does not appear to be a pipe leak. Instead, they believe the water ingress is likely related to water pressure and drainage issues behind a retaining wall. The water is entering the subfloor / cavity area of the house, and there is visible water pooling and soil washout along the wall, particularly during heavy rainfall. The plumber suggested that the retaining wall or drainage behind it may be failing or not draining correctly, allowing water to build up and push through. Im looking for someone experienced with retaining walls, drainage, or structural landscaping to: Inspect the retaining wall and surrounding drainage Identify the cause of the water ingress Advise on the best repair solution (e.g., drainage installation, wall repair, waterproofing, or replacement if required) Provide a quote for the necessary works Access is available to the subfloor area, where the water is currently visible.
