  We called ABA plumbing to investigate a gas leak at our property, they sent their technician out on the 5th of April who identified a dodgy pipe and installed a new one for $515, assuring us the leak was fixed and system was holding pressure, great news! Expensive for a 20cm piece of copper but if the problem is solved we were happy to cop it. Unfortunately the pipe wasn’t the issue, with the same smell and leak still existing in the house. We called them back for a second time and the same technician confirmed a leak but could not identify where it was coming from, on the 21st of April, he quoted us $5000 (verbally) to replace the gas line and proceeded to shut off the gas supply to the property. He also provided verbal quotes of $7500 for a nameless mid-range heat pump and $4500 for a nameless electric water tank, both were extremely expensive quotes I have verified with multiple suppliers (I am also assuming that the gas line replacement was also inflated but have not confirmed that with any independent plumbers yet). We are currently seeking a refund from the company for the original work as it was obviously not required and did not fix the problem. The company have in the meantime sent a doctored certificate of compliance to the regulator, claiming that these two visits were conducted on the same day (an attempt to cover up work that did not resolve the issue and to retain the initial $515 paid to fix the problem). I’ll update this review depending on how that plays out over the coming days but will escalate this if required. I would not recommend this company, and would encourage others to look elsewhere to find a more honest and forthright company that actually cares if there is gas leaking into their customers houses. The plumber was a nice man, I believe the company just operates poorly and is overly money rather than customer focused. Happy to provide evidence of all of the above, just message me.
