"Abaca Counselling & Psychology is a psychology practice based in the Caulfield and Cranbourne regions of Victoria. We are dedicated to providing adolescents and adults with high-quality evidence-based counselling, hypnotherapy and EMDR therapy for adults and adolescents. TAC, Workcover, Victims of Crime, ATAPS, DVA and self-referrals accepted. Ritchie has been involved in working with people of all ages from diverse cultural backgrounds who present with various issues at different stages of their lives. Having experienced many personal challenges in his own life (including childhood grief, physical abuse, low self-esteem, social anxiety and depression), he has a keen sensitivity and understanding of the myriad of issues faced by clients. As a result of his experiences, he is passionate about helping others overcome their struggles, and find meaning and personal fulfillment in their lives. As an avid deep thinker (who loves engaging in deep reflection on life and existentialism in his spare time!), he weaves his own distinctly creative brand of insight into therapy to connect and relate to each and every person at their particular point of need. Ritchie incorporates various evidence-based treatments including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Relaxation, Hypnosis and Ego State Therapy to ensure that clients obtain a carefully-tailored experience with the best possible outcomes. He is experienced at dealing with a range of mental health issues but has a particular interest in the treatment of PTSD, complex trauma, long-standing anxiety and childhood abuse."
