How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I decided to learn massage after suffering pain and tension from a young age with a mild scoliosis.  I watched my family prescribed a lot of prescription medicine and consequently was brought up in a world of antibiotics, antidepressants and painkillers.  I formed a strong connection to nature being raised in the country and when I experienced the wonders of essential oils it drove me to learn more and utilise this as my main form of healthcare.  Now I love to share it in my work.

What do you like most about your job?

Accepted Answer

I love helping people to relax their body and mind, and to see them smile again.  I love using gifts from nature such as essential oils and natural products to help restore and heal.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Accepted Answer

I believe a customer should ask to see qualifications if they are not displayed in the practice, and should feel comfortable to ask what qualifications I have over the phone before booking the treatment. Another important question is insurance - the therapist needs to have insurance in place. Another question  may be "Are you a member of a professional association?", such as Australian Traditional Medicine Society or Massage Association Australia, there are others.  These associations allow members to be providers for health funds and the therapist needs to adhere to professional standards and codes of ethics. Place of education for therapist qualifications may also a question you may want to ask.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Accepted Answer

Before a quote can be given I need to know what treatment is required (massage/aromatherapy massage/aromatherapy consultation), and how long the treatment required will be (e.g. 1 hour, 1.5 hour, etc.).  I need to know if it is a mobile service and what suburb I am to travel to, or if you would like to come to the Morley Practice.

Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?

I would like to offer oneflare customers a package deal for massage therapy.   Purchase 10 x 1 hour massages and receive 2 free.  Payment of package deal is to be made after the first massage.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

I take cash for my services.  Once I get to know a client I can utilise direct bank transfer from their account to mine on the day of the treatment.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Accepted Answer

I specialise in relaxation and non-toxic healthcare.  My relaxation massage is a very relaxing and healing session, combined with essential oils it is a total experience.  Aromatherapy consultations for any health issues may be a natural alternative to medication or can work well with your current medication.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I have 10 years experience as a Massage Therapist and 6 years experience as a Clinical Aromatherapist  using essential oils as a form of healthcare and making my own handmade products.
