When i orignally left University, i went into Corporate insolvency for me it did not sit well telling clients of administered companies they were unlikely to receive any payment. So i took up the opportunity of what i learnt in insolvency i.e clients exposed to business risk and try vary means to minimise business risk and to create efficient business structures.

Some of the simple ones are the best,  After reviewing a clients file i relaised that the previous accountant had simply missed prior years carry forward losses in their calculation. Big $$$ Finding exemptions in legilations enabling greater utilisation of the tax laws.

The more information we have to sort through and search for the longer it takes, Therefore providing a covering letter and summary of source data makes it extremely efficient and quite cost effective and will be reflected in the price.

A bit of a furphy here, Accounting standards an taxation law in Australia mean that its nearly irrelevant what exposure you have had to a specific industry. It means you have to research the tax treatement of a specific deduction or structure, when Accountants say they specialise in it, it normally means they are comfortable in advising in "one" industry. As they are all over the legislation in that one specific need or recently reviewed it.The same legilation and rulings exist for every accountant..
