How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I am a teacher by trade and I still teach during the week. I have always loved make up and decided to release my inner creative and follow my dream! I am loving being a teacher during the week and glamming it up on the weekends! I have the perfect balance!

I had a last minute booking for a young lady attending her work gala ball. She was going to do her own make up as she had run out of time to book a professional. She contacted me and I was able to fit her in. We created this drop dead gorgeous smokey eye with lashes and a vampy red lip! She was over the moon and went to her work do looking like a superstar!

What do you like most about your job?

I love working with each person to bring their make up inspiration and their hopes and dreams for their special occasion to life. I love that moment when my client looks in the mirror and says 'Wow!' I love making women feel so beautiful that they just can't stop smiling!

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

My number one priority is to make you look and feel beautiful for your special occasion! I custom create each make up look together with YOU and adjust as i go giving you creative license all the way through your appointment! I don't do 'instagram' makeup. Your look is designed for your face!!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

I love to see a photo of the make up or hair look that you are hoping for so that I can estimate how long the look is going to take to create and if I need to purchase any extra products to create the look. I also need to know where you live and what time you need to be ready by!

I would like to offer $10 off each make up booking confirmed and booked before April 2019.  I also offer $10 off your second make up booking with me!

What makes your pricing competitive?

My prices are very competitive in the Brisbane make up market. I offer complimentary lashes and free travel within 10km of my base location. I try and keep costs as low as I can for my clients and will often offer a discount for each person when a large group booking is made.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I accept cash or eftpos/credit card payments through Square. I take most payments on the day for individual services but require a deposit for weddings and large group bookings. I have standard make up pricing with additional costs for travel and special make up services.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I am a specialise bridal and formal make up artist. I specialise in custom colour mixing foundations and make up that looks beautiful and lasts all day/all night!

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Accepted Answer

I trained with highly experienced Australian Make Up Artist Dale Dorning and therefore have the most up to date and industry specific knowledge and skills to offer. I am constantly upskilling and keeping abreast of industry developments including attending expos and industry Masterclasses.
