How did you decide to get into your line of work?

We got into the cabinet making industry through family. It started with a wood machinist travelling to Australia and settling down. Passing on many great skills and traits to have in this industry. We know many "old school" ways of completing tasks and working through difficult designs. You could just simply say it runs in the family.

What do you like most about your job?

The best part of our job is that we get to meet a lot of great people and watching their excitement when the cabinets start being installed is awesome. It can be a daunting process while renovating, but when the designs and selections are done and the build is complete, then the product arrives onsite ready for installation. This can be quite an exciting time as the customer starts to see everything come together.

They should be able to tell the difference between a salesman and a tradesman. At Auskit, the tradesman are the salesman. The person that you start talking to at the start of the project will be the one person that will handle the entirety of your job. Taking a look at their past work and social media pages are a great way to gauge their presence in the customers eyes.

The most common question is how quick can I get the product after purchasing? Our answer is that there is a lengthy process involved and we like to break it down for the customer.   1. Site measure for quoting purposes. 2. Refined site measure after job acceptance. 3. Proceed to drafting process for design and colour selections. 4. Proceed to manufacturing. 5. Proceed to installation process.  This is a quick guide to the process and can take up to 10 weeks in some of the larger projects. Every job is different depending on the details, hardware and selections and of course the size of the project.
