Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

Of course we are fully insured on any vehicle we drive, that is registered to drive on Victorian Roads. We guarantee all our workmanship up to 12months/20,000kms and new parts have their own warranty (usually 12 moths) and most second hands parts (usually 3 month warranty). We will inform you at the time how much your parts warranty will be so you be able to make an informative decision.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

We both have a passion for cars and motorcycles and have a soft spot for the old school cars/bikes. We attend many car/bike shows and regularly join the Motorbike Toy Run Fund Raisers each year. Working within the motor industry really keeps us up-to-date with the technology and how it have evolved over the years.

This review was left on our facebook page.....   Margaret Ritter — 5 stars. Becks came to my rescue. Needed brakes looking at and they squeezed me in to fix. Was offered a courtesy car free yes free. Mechanic found $50 under dash board as I had weird fan sound. How honest is that to hand it back. Great service and efficient & good price. Thank you Becks

What do you like most about your job?

Being a mechanic, it is a dirty, hot job especially when working on cars. We love to see our customers happy and they are always recommending us to not only their family but their friends as well. When we receive calls from new customers that have been recommended, it give us that warm fuzzy feeling and we know that we are doing our best in our family business.

My car is making a noise - what can it be and how much. Well, if your car is making a noise, then we would need to book it in and look at the problem. We offer a free quote and then you can decide to re-book your vehicle with us or leave it in our hands to fix. We have a courtesy car if you need to get yourself to and from work until your vehicle is back on the road again.

We pride ourselves of being the locally trusted mechanic. Paul & Michelle live in the local area and always are seeing our customers at the local shops and its nice to hear that their car, after having been to Becks Automotive, is running better than before.

At Becks Automotive you will not only get a fully qualified, honest, mechanic to service your vehicle, we will try our best to track down the best possible pricing on parts that are suitable for your vehicle.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

We would require the Make, Model, Year, Body, Rego or Vin Number, and exactly what you would like us to do on your vehicle . For example Log Book Service, Brakes, or a general look over.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Accepted Answer

Tip 1. Don't buy your own parts. This can lead to purchasing non-refundable wrong parts required - especially from e-bay. Tip 2. Have another opinion and quote before you come to us. 9 times out of 10 what others have quoted you may not necessary mean that is actually needs to be done. Tip 3. Cash Money - try not to use your credit card. Just remember both of us gets charged for using this type of service.

At Beck's Automotive Repairs & Service we do already offer Senior's Discounts, Carers and Disabled Customers a 20% Discount off the Labour. If you fit into one of the above we still honor that. Just tell us you have a card when you book your vehicle in and bring it with you when you pay your bill.

What makes your pricing competitive?

We offer our customers Genuine or Non Genuine Parts, so you the customer can select which way you would like to proceed. We also quote on what actually requires fixing and give you a heads up what might need looking at in the future.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

We do charge an hourly rate and if less we break that down to 15 min intervals. If the job requires a lot of hours, say like a re-installation of an engine then we would reduce our hourly rate. As we all know, that can be a very expensive on the hip pocket. We like to see our customers happy and we are here to help you back on your feet, well, wheels again.

Not only are we good at Automotive Vehicle Repairs, we also are a one stop shop. Offering our customers very competitive pricing on our Tyres. We can get most brands commonly known or other alternatives to help save your money and not pay for the brand name. Our Wheel Alignment machine and brake lathes use the  latest technology and have pin point accuracy.

With 25 years experience and holding a Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology and Automotive Mechanical Light Vehicle, Certificate III in Repair and Service LP Gas System License Plus being a VACC Accredited Member, you know your vehicle is in good hands.
