We are fully insured with both business insurance and workers compensation.   We are required to provide certificates of currency for our insurance policies when requested.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

On of the owners of Bin Master had a long history in the building and construction industry and over dinner one night the prospect was tabled.  We developed a business plan and haven't looked back since.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

We have lots of favourites but one older gentleman will ring and talk to me day after day to get all the ins and outs of which bin he should get, the size, where he wants it put down.   He rings every year and I know when the first call comes in I will be talking to him all week.   We always make sure every step of the service is perfect for him.

What do you like most about your job?

We are very busy and the day flies past very quickly.   All the guys that work here are friendly and easy to get along with.   I get to talk to lots and lots of people all day long on the phone.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

A customer should make sure they are aware of any extra costs involved in hiring a skip bin.   In most instances Bin Master can provide a fixed price for a skip bin hire which is not based on the final weight of the load, just the volume.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

The most common question is "What is the most popular size bin?".   We find all the sizes popular at all times, it just depends on the volume of each job.   However, when in doubt people usually go for a medium which is a 4 cubic meter.

Bin Master have been involved in many large projects over the years and we always get a thank you from the project managers at the end of the project.  The thank yous are mainly for providing such great service, keeping their jobs moving and providing all the documentation required for their environmental compliance.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

We need to know the suburb you are in, what sort of size you are looking at and the type of waste you want to get rid of.    The reason we need to know the type of waste is to make sure no prohibited items end up in the skip bin.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Always order a skip bin large enough to hold all the waste you want to get rid of otherwise you will end up having to order another bin.  It is much cheaper to have one larger bin than two smaller ones.  If you have larger items such as beds, tables, etc., you can always break up the items as much as possible to enable you to fit them in a skip bin with your other waste.  Have your pile of waste ready before you order the skip bin, then you won't go over the standard hire period and pay for extra days.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Bin Master pricing is solid and competitive.  Our prices do not fluctuate up and down wildly.   Pricing is based on the average costs to provide the service of delivery, collection, sorting and waste depot charges.  Our rates are clearly stated on our web site and when our Conditions of Hire are met there are no additional charges.

How do you normally charge for your service?

charges are made relevant to the size of the bin ordered.   Our bin sizes are 2 cubic meter up to 8 cubic meters. Payment is due for service on delivery.  We accept cash or can bring an eftpos machine.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Every industry generates waste, however, about 50% of our work is in construction waste.   The other 50% is made up of domestic households, commercial and industrial clients.

Asset Maintenance (Waste Management) Certificate IV at TAFE training has allowed Bin Master to develop Environmental Waste Management and Safety Management policies and procedures.   Strong administration and accounting experience, skills and practices provide Bin Master with security to grow year after year.
