How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Prior to becoming a marriage celebrant, I had worked in and around the wedding industry for over 15 years, in photography, jewellery and menswear. I had also attended lots of weddings with the thought... I had already heard this spiel. This made me want to make weddings unique for couples

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

There is too many to list, but a few highlights are tequila shots, paper scissors rock for who goes first with vows and when the guests are surprised that an engagement party turns into a wedding are all great memories for me.

I love bringing happiness to others and sharing their story. It is an honour to solemnize couples marriages and help celebrate one of the most memorable days in their lives.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Get to know the wedding professionals - if they seem genuinely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable they probably are. Look for someone you can relate to and who gets you and shares or understands the vision for your wedding. some try to make it about them when it should be about you.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

Civil Marriage Celebrants need to be authorised by the Attorney Generals department. This ensures they meet the high standards required to be of good character. Additionally all celebrants must adhere to the Celebrants code of practice.

I am relaxed and laid back, with a willingness to listen to what you are after. I help bring your idea of what you would like to life!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Where you and the ceremony are located, when you are planning your wedding for and the type of ceremony you are planning, eg, Legals only, Elopement Style or a more traditional ceremony.

Do your research, know what you must have and what you can be flexible on. Ultimately though, its a day for you to have what you want - make sure you don't compromise that

What makes your pricing competitive?

I believe my pricing is competitive and what I am worth. Of course there may be cheaper but its important to make sure you can relate to your celebrant regardless of the cost.

How do you normally charge for your service?

There is a base fee for my service, in addition to that depending what you are after there is the BDM Certificate, additional travel fees may apply along with the costs associated with any special requests such as costumes or items required for any rituals or traditions you may like performed.

I specialise in LOVE! Listening to what you are after and working with you to bring it to life. I like to think my personality does all the work - but you can be the judge of that

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

After becoming authorised by the Attorney General in July 2018 after the successful completion of my Certificate IV in Celebrancy I thought this would be a hobby to add to my existing career. How wrong I was - becoming a fulltime celebrant in March 2019 as I couldn't fit both in.
