How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I was actually studying a degree in counselling at the time and got into theatre costume makeup when assisting a friend on her film set, I fell in love with that as a creative outlet for years and then finally did my course and got qualified in Makeup Artistry so I could make my passion my career.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I was at a wedding and did makeup on a Mother of the bride who has a condition in which her hair falls out, I delicately had to draw on brand new eyebrows from scratch for her and she absolutely LOVED her new brows that she hugged me and cried. Warmed my heart definitely.

What do you like most about your job?

I love that I get to travel all over the Coast and discover new areas, I love the excitement of the bridesmaids watching their friend get ready for their big day "wait till you see your makeup!", I love being my own boss and I love being creative everyday

Make sure they're confident in what they do by asking for images of previous work, checking out their socials, sending images of what you want done and base their reaction on whether you think they're confident in their work.

"Should I bring my own lashes?" If you have a particular pair you'd like then yes, otherwise I bring some along with me always. "Should I have my lip colour?" I would recommend definitely, especially if you're a bride. "what brands do you use?" I have multiple brands in my kit that i love

I have a proven track record to always be on time, reliable, professional and down to earth. I am a creative artist and always help my clients decide what look they want when they're unsure. I use professional, high quality products in my kit. I am also Diploma qualified and highly experienced.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

First things first: the date of your event to make sure i'm available, amount of people wanting hair/makeup, location so i can give you a quote on travel expenses (20km radius to Tumbi is free!) and a time frame so I can organise a run sheet for the day and stay organised.

Keep an eye out on my social media accounts for discounts and flash sales! Multiple people or large groups can also receive money off on their service, get a group of friends together and save money on your night out.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I've done my research on the surrounding areas and I'm definitely one of the most well priced makeup artists around. I want everyone to be able to afford and enjoy the luxury of having a professional do your hair and makeup

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

For makeup pricing I usually start at $60 as a base and get a brief from the client of what kind of look they're after. I always include false lashes in my pricing, so the price never goes up if you want lashes. Hair and makeup package starts at $150 per person. 20km travel is free.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I specialise in bridal/wedding makeup, i love to make the bride feel radiant and beautiful, as should any girl be on their special day! I always go above and beyond for my blushing brides.

I have a Diploma in Makeup Artistry which has trained me and helped me develop skills in many different types of makeup and hair services, so i am fit to do any creative request.
