Frequently Asked Questions
Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
I should be hired over other marriages celebrants because I am up front with everything. All questions that are asked, I do my best to answer them. I am genuine, friendly, nice and aim to give my customers exactly what they are after.
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
I am a fully qualified certified civil marriage celebrant. I studied not only the legal side of marriage, but also the side that took me into understanding ways to help my couple's create their perfect ceremony. Also being married myself, I know how important it is to have the skill of listening to what other's want.
Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
My main thing that I specialise in is marriage ceremonies. In saying that, I do like to do naming ceremonies as they are so sweet. I am always open to other ceremonies such as vow renewals and commitment ceremonies.
How do you normally charge for your service?
Each ceremony is different and is charged accordingly. The smaller, the less expensive. Ceremonies do take time no matter how big or small, different factors come into play such as number of guests, location, time ad unusual inclusions. I do try to keep my fees down, but of course, just like any business, I must charge a reasonable fee for my services. I class my fees as average compared to other celebrants.
What makes your pricing competitive?
My pricing is competitive because although the money is important, I do this job because I love it. I charge an all inclusive fee so you know exactly what you are up for.
I also understand that we are not all millionaires.
How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips
Know exactly what you want or at least have a good idea of what you want.
Ask other's what they have paid for similar services.
Consider week day ceremonies, normally will be cheaper.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
Before I can give a quote I need to know certain things like when the ceremony will be held. Where the ceremony will take place. How many guests will be attending. Are there any special things that I should know about that may give me cause to up my fee.
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
A common question that couple's ask me is how long does a ceremony take. Most ceremonies on average are 20-30 minutes long. Some very small ceremonies can be as short as 10 minutes.
Another question is "who takes care of the legal side on things?" The answer to this is I do. I take all the information from you that you have truthfully given and signed, I then pass it on to the Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages.
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
I believe that I am reliable and trustworthy because I take what I do seriously. I am always contactable, happy to answer questions and are honest with all that I say and do.
What do you like most about your job?
I love that I can make a couple's dream come true. I like the way I can help a couple understand the whole ceremony process, especially when they come to me and say "What do we do now?"
Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?
It was a wedding down at Wiseman's Ferry. The day was forecast to be fine with a chance of a storm. I drive down there, the clouds start to get dark. The wedding was scheduled to start half hour after I got there. The bride's gown had not yet arrived and she was starting to get worried, although we knew it was on it's way. The wedding was an outside wedding. Little did we know that it was a blessing in disguise that the gown was late, the wedding had to be put off for an hour. The storm came down hard right on the original ceremony time. When we finally did have the ceremony, the sky was the cleanest blue with the sun shining down. The wedding turned out to be stunning.
