Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

Some venues will ask if your DJ/Band has public liability.  I am covered for up to a 5piece band for your peace of mind.  I've attached a copy on my profile.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

A Gatsby themed 50th. Novotel, Olympic Park. After a 7 hour party, where I was asked to stay back an extra 2 hours. For the last song I was dragged on the dance floor by the crowd thanking me for a great night.  One of my best jobs and I've got the selfie to prove it.

What do you like most about your job?

Accepted Answer

I love the interaction I have with people.  I enjoy meeting new people and getting a call back from previous (happy) customers. Some have called me back over several years! There's nothing better than knowing I played a part in creating a great time for people and great memories.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Specifically for weddings, I get plenty of clients ask me for song requests for their special moments. These include their first dance, father and daughter dance, cutting of the cake, last song etc... I'm happy to give you some suggestions.  I've also been asked for games ideas and the structure of the run sheet which I can also help you with.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

Im proud to say I have never cancelled or done a 'no show' to a gig. I do not ask for a deposit but I can assure you that if I've locked you in, I will be there. I also arrive at least an hour early to make sure I've got plenty of time to set up, get changed and be ready for the start of your event.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Because of my large range in music styles! Let's be honest, I could say more but the truth is that these days most DJs have top quality equipment and punctuality and professionalism should be standard, but my music selection can have a crowd of all ages up on their feet!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Apart from the obvious things like start and finish time, it helps to provide the following;  How many people? Large event, 150+ people, I may have to take extra sound equipment which can vary the price. Distance? There may be a travel fee for events out of Sydney.

No.  Not because I do not value my Oneflare customers but simply because my prices are already very low in comparison, so you are already getting a SPECIAL OFFER!

What makes your pricing competitive?

You're skipping the middle man! Most DJ suppliers will charge you much more than they pay the DJ they send and you never know who they will send.  With me, you get a great(lower) price and you know who your DJ is. I'm also happy to meet without charging you. Another advantage!

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Hourly rate. I have my standard hourly rate and it's as simple as adding the hours you need my services. Bumping in and bumping out is not charged. There can be other costs incurred as a result of the following extras; MC services, travel distance, extra sound or lighting.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Weddings. I can safely say that I know weddings inside out and can help you organise your run sheet from start to end. That doesn't mean I can't do other events, I've also done plenty birthdays, corporate events and Christmas parties to name a few.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Accepted Answer

DJs are NOT sound techs! Well, I am.  I have a certificate in Audio Visual meaning I can also work a mixing desk, lighting and that inhouse wireless microphone that venues can never get to work!  And skills? Well they've come over the many years of experience.
