How did you decide to get into your line of work?

My upbringing only involved Church Weddings, however, my life experiences introduced me to knowledge of  such a career as a Civil Celebrant. I learned that in this day and age, many couples are Divorced and no longer meet the requirements to re-marry within the Church.  Civil Celebrants there fore meet these requirements for couples. I investigated the training requirements and followed through. I love this Profession!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I can remember lots of stories shared with my couples but under confidentiality it is best that I do not extend online about these.  In think in life, we all have a story or two to tell!

What do you like most about your job?

My work as a Celebrant is so gratifying!  Assisting my couples to plan such a very special day in their lives, being part of their dreams!  A groom once said to me "meeting with you is not like meeting the Celebrant, it is more like dropping to visit Mum and sharing a coffee"!

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Customers should meet with a Celebrant, learn their personality and be sure that they are confident that the Celebrant meets their requirement. Be sure their car is trustworthy, that their grooming will meet their expectations. Most importantly "are they available at chosen time and date"?   "How many ceremonies do you perform in one day"?

Do you have Amplifier with microphones?   Yes, My amplifier is of 60 watt output, it contains 2 wireless receivers i.e. a cordless cone mike for the Bride & Groom and/or Guest Readers plus Claire has her flesh colored headset mike so that she is hands free. Recent Digital changes have greatly affected our equipment, should a tower be present in the location of a Venue, channels may have to be amended, Claire also has a back up third mike on a lead.

my many years of experience in the workplace provide me with a very good standing in the Community, having officiated at more than 140 Weddings and countless numbers of Baby Namings. So many clients to offer testimonials.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Please provide DATE & TIME of the ceremony, plus the VENUE LOCATION to your Celebrant when requesting a quote.  This enables you to receive a FIRM QUOTE in the first instance.  All Celebrants provide free travel within a certain radius, extra travel may incur a small extra fee to be agreed upon at interview.  Travel fees are set by the Australian TAX Office according to the model of car driven by the Celebrant.

Cash or Internet Banking. Bank Details will be provided at interview, once Notice of Intended Marriage and contract signed.  Cheques by negotiation, 14 days in advance

Claire loves her work as a Celebrant!  The best thing she has done in her life!  She specializes in Weddings, Commitment Ceremonies, Baby Naming, Renewal of Marriage Vows, Funerals & Memorials.  Gay Marriage is not yet legal in Australia, so do not hesitate to contact Claire, she would be only too willing to officiate a Commitment Ceremony for you.

Following 17 years experience in the Hospitality Industry Claire qualified with Statement of Attainment CHCMCEL402A to Plan, Conduct and Review a Marriage Ceremony, this course being recognized in the Australian Qualifications Framework. Claire also comes with over 20 years in Medical, Real Estate and Retail Industries. Such an abundance of experience dealing with the public.
