I wanted to spend more time with my then young family, and looked at self employment to accomadate this.Carpet steam cleaning was what seemed the most obvious opportunity at the time.It worked.

A lady rang me and told me her 3 year old had just poured 2 litres of red concentrated cordial all over her  cream /beige  lounge room carpet. I told her to keep the whole  area wet, and immediately drove to her home and steam cleaned the room. Because i got their in good time the cordial  came out and there was no sign of it at. It was a rental and the lady was thrilled. If i hadn't got there in time the carpet would have been a throw away. LUCKY HEY.

What do you like most about your job?

Each carpet can present it's own challenge,and i enjoy coming up with solutions.I enjoy meeting a wide array of people and building a rapport with them, and seeing their appreciation for a job well done. I also enjoy the physical nature of my work it helps to keep me fit while I'm being paid.- no need for the gym ,i get my workout on the job.

Are their any hidden costs not already quoted for?  Is deoderising included in the price? Most importantly is it  genuine Steam cleaning ( Hot Water extraction method) not Dry cleaning?

How often should I vacuum my carpet,  and how often should i get it Steam cleaned? Vacuum at least once a week , more if possible. Steam clean main living area  and passageways every 12 month as a general rule of thumb if you have children and or pets. 18 months if you are single or a couple. Prevenative maintenance pays off.

I like to be punctual and always contact customer if I'm running late for any reason. I am a family man with qualifications in Aged care, so I have a fair bit of experience working with the elderly in the community.

For personal service. I do all the jobs myself, and unlike a franchaise, I can take my time on each job and guarantee my personal work. My prices are very cost effective, I dont have as many overheads as many of my competitors.

Area size of carpet to be cleaned. How many rooms and the area suburb of the actual job? and of course the colour and conditon of the carpet are all good guides in assisting with giving an accurate quotation..

Pre vacuum the carpet Make sure power is still connected Describe carpet details accurately. ( i.e size and condition, colour and  texture).

Being a one man operation I have lower overheads, and can better tailor my service to meet people's particular needs, or requirements. In other words, I have a great deal of flexibility.

Prices are generally worked out on room sizes, quantity of rooms and overall condition of carpet. i.e how dirt y a carpet is, which gives me an idea of how it will take to do a job.Generally lighter coloured carpets like cream cost more to maintain. Also were the property is situated has a bearing and whether it is a single storey dwelling or 2 storey place.

I was first introduced to Carpet Steam Cleaning by a friend who had 25 years experience in the industry  both in domestic and Commercial Cleaning.He helped set me up and guided me with my choice of equipment,and spent time training me in the early stage of my business.There after I have learnt from hands on experience.
