Sebastian from Code Architecture is a Melbourne based architect, who believes good design should be accessible to all and allows nature to form and make architecture. With over 20 years experience working with various firms, he is involved with Melbourne’s leading interior designers and innovative developers. With extensive local, national and international experience combined with extensive training at three architectural schools across Australia, Sebastian knows that good design is less about a postcode. Good design can and should flourish everywhere. Sebastian is the son of a builder and an artist. His extensive knowledge not just in the studio but out in the field means that he has a keen awareness of construction and materials and how they impact design. Working as a labourer for his parents he has had hands on experience with the very materials he recommends as part of his designs. Sebastian’s vocabulary of design is influenced by his great connections with talented industrial artists and industrial designers. Code Architecture works with specialised consultants and sub-contractors in the use of the latest construction techniques, both precast and cross laminated timber. Utilising these construction methodologies allows for greater accuracy, less time on site lost due to weather and allows for the inclusion of sub-contractors earlier in the design process reducing the risk of errors.
