Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

All my works is guaranteed and I'll explain in detail what the guarantee covers. I always come and discuss, rectify and correct all my jobs even after completion.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I enjoy people and love working with my hands. Plastering is a trade where there's always challenges. I love moving around and not having a job at a fixed address.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I have many cause I have a lot of favourite customers. One that comes to mind is when a customer wanted to recreate a wall that looked like painted brickwork over a plasterboard surface, he was so overwhelmed when he saw the finished product. It did look like a brick wall.

I get a lot of satisfaction when I can look back and take pride in what I have accomplished. More important I love the look on my client's faces when they see the end result and that gives me a lot of satisfaction.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Payment terms. I always stress to customers never pay tradesmen on day of completion. Why? If a good tradesman has confidence with high standards and guarantees his/her work they should give you (the customer) a few days to settle. I have heard many stories where payment was done on completion and then finding some issues with the work or lack of and never to see that tradesman again!

Most common questions are  - are you able to repair my job? - can you match the finish texture? - can you replicate the cornice/mould? - can you minimise the amount of dust? - do you protect my furniture and floors?  I answer YES to all those questions.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I work on my own so I am the only person you deal with. I ensure I always keep the upmost security and safety precautions when in someones home. I have a great track record and my clients have a lot of trust in me even to a point where they hand over their house keys until I complete the job.

I'm reliable, communicate, easily contactable, trustworthy, clean, respect your home and families, listen to what you say, no job is too difficult and service with a smile!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

How big or small is the works to be carried out. For me if the job requires a whole house to be plastered or double storey, then I clearly know it's too large for me being on my own. I always ask for a description and most times I request an inspection which also gives the opportunity to meet

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. Always get the right tradesman for the job otherwise you will end up having to pay for another tradesman to rectify the mistakes or poor workmanship  2. NEVER settle on completion! Always discuss settlement terms. I suggest seven days or more. This gives YOU the comfort in knowing that the tradesperson MUST come back and rectify the work. ANY TRADE THAT INSISTS TO BE PAID ON COMPLETION GIVE THEM THE WAVE GOOD BYE! I heard many customers lamenting that once payed they never came back.  3. Changing your mind during and after the work has started can  impact the price. Important to make right decisions beforehand.

I don't give any discounts like 10% cause I know most companies simply add it to their pricing. To me it's a marketing strategy. I like to be straight down the line with my customers and want the same for me.

I really believe when customers know about the service they will receive from me they often choose by the quality and standards. Most times you get what you pay for.

Most times I give a fixed price. On occasions due to some unknown outcomes I suggest an hourly or day rate. I do give customers an idea and budget on expected costs in that situation

Period homes and restorations, water damage repairs, plaster repairs from cracks to damaged walls and ceilings. Special finishes such as "Stucco" and textures. Small to medium jobs

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Over 25 years experience with skills to repair any type of plaster eg. lathe and plaster, plasterboard, solid plaster/rendering, matching special textures and finishes. Full apprenticeship qualification with many government and company awards
