How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Beauty is my very satisfying passion- everything about it charges my heart with fire! I live and breathe makeup, art, beauty, fashion and photography, and I am very creative and highly inspired.  I absolutely love the art of transformation. This fascination has led me on a journey toward challenging and bettering myself- always learning new techniques, new trends, new ways of doing things better.  I also adore the element of pampering and nurturing others and making them feel amazing about themselves!  I really love helping clients take some time out of their busy schedules to enjoy some 'me time'..there's nothing quite as relaxing as having your hair and/or makeup done professionally while you can sit back and unwind.

I am passionate about both the creative process and teaching women of all ages to harness their inner beauty and strength.  My unique understanding of the interplay between makeup, art and personality will make you feel and look like a star.

In order to ensure you are hiring the the right person, you need to ask the service professional if they have experience doing the specific type of work you require. If they have limited experience, what skills and experience can they bring to the table to assure you they are the right fit?

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

My most commonly asked questions are "I don't wear very much makeup. Can you make me look natural and not too 'made up' for my wedding/ special event?" AND "Will my makeup last?" A lot of women I meet don't wear makeup on a regular basis and the thought of having a full face of makeup can be a little daunting!  I completely understand that on your special day you want to look your absolute best, and you can relax in the knowledge that I will always take into account your natural beauty, your face shape and structure and your skin to accentuate and enhance all your beautiful qualities.  Secondly, will your make up last? By using the best products, techniques, knowledge and tools of the trade, I can assure you that it will most certainly last through the night!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Accepted Answer

I need to know your location where you will be getting ready for your event, as I do charge a small fee to cover my travel expenses. I also need to know the size of your party, and whether you require any add-ons such as  false eyelashes. It is also always good to know when you need to be ready by, so I can plan a start time that ensures you won't be rushed and can enjoy the experience of being pampered!

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. Being very clear about what you want (and don't want), your skin type, hair length etc will save you time and allow me to provide you with the most accurate quote. 2. Repeat customers attract a 10% discount and if you refer me to a friend, you and your friend will both attract a 10% discount.  3. Keeping an eye on my ista and signing up to our newsletter via our website, to be first in the know about promos and VIP discounts and offers!

Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?

For all repeat clients I offer a special discount of 10% off all makeup services. If you refer a friend to me I will also extend a 10% discount to both of you for your next service. Cannot be redeemed for cash and there is a limit of one discount per customer.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I aim to give you an affordable, professional and high quality service. I charge reasonable rates in line with my experience, knowledge and qualifications. I constantly benchmark my prices against others in my area who have a similar level of experience so you can be assured my prices are in line with comparable service providers.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I charge a set fee per client regardless of the time, depending on the type of makeup, the brief and any add-ons required (eg false lashes, brow shaping). Group bookings are welcome and attract a discount.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I specialise in glamour makeup, creative and avant garde makeup, editorial makeup, and alternative bridal - particularly vintage, rockabilly, and pinup brides! I particularly adore creating unique, edgy and ultra creative conceptual works, so if you have a concept or vision you would like brought to life, feel free to get in touch with your ideas! I love to collaborate and bring new concepts to life.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I offer extensive practical experience as a freelance hair and makeup artist over the past 8 years, working across commercial projects, weddings, fashion, film and TV and special events. I have also completed a Cert II in Makeup Artistry in 2006 at the WA Institue of Beauty Therapy.
