Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

Yes the business is fully insured for professional liability and indemnity. I provide a full guarantee for all my work and if there is a problem I am happy to rectify. I have never had a non-paying customer in my 6 years operating this business.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I evolved into this business through my prior experience working and managing paint stores. I could see there was an opportunity in the market for someone to specialise in this area as we had a lot of customers enquiring about decking products and needing advice and many people did not want the hassle of doing it themselves.

Feeling a sense of pride in turning something that looks old and shabby into something that looks great again. Working for myself. Meeting many nice people along the way.

How often will the coating need to be reapplied? This will depend on whether the timber is exposed to the elements or whether it is undercover, if exposed it will most likely need to be maintained once a year. Covered areas and upright timber will probably not require as much maintenance.

I fully guarantee all my work and have built up a clientele of customers who contract me to provide annual maintenance on their decks etc. I am an honest and reliable worker and have many recommendations from previous clients.

Size of the deck or areas to be coated Type of coating already used if it is not new timber Type of finish you are looking for, whether it be the same as previously, or whether you are unsatisfied and want a new look.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I believe I have a competitive pricing, whilst at the same time providing a quality product and service. I more often than not am employed to complete the jobs that I quote on.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

I usually charge per square meter and the final price will ultimately depend on the product used for the coating, how much cleaning and preparation is required, for example if there is mould to kill and clean first, and also how many coats are required to revive the timber.
