Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Yes I am fully insured for hair and makeup. I always do 100% and do my best if you are unhappy I will definitely change anything for you. I need to know about it ASAP that way I have the time to change anything you want, please don't tell me at the last minute, that can be difficult if you are in a rush to be somewhere. I rarely have occasions like this because I get my clients to check parts of the makeup as we go rather than painting a whole face and them wanting changes later. I also prefer to do trials for brides, I think this is very important.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I once had a good long term customer who bought me a beautiflul orchid after I had been off work when my grand father passed on.  Also my lovely clients have baked me goodies at christmas time and wrapped them in cute boxes. It made me realise that people appreciate you when you when you take a little extra care. That was a really nice thing.

Being creative, meeting different people and contributing in some small way to very important times in their lives.  I also get to meet famous people occasionally!!

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Definitely ask about qualifications/ experience. I know people who have done far less study and have far less experience who charge more than me, I'm not saying I'm better than anyone but it usually is a good indication of quality control in certain price brackets.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

A frequent one is, how long does it take to do hair and makeup? It depends on so many things but it can take up to 3 hrs for hair and makeup on one person. This is max time though, it usually is a guide for brides, I have to set up 2 areas for hair/makeup, set the hair, do the makeup, allow time for some food and brushing teeth in the middle of all that. Then pull rollers out and do the hair up. It can take this long because you will be surprised how many stops and starts there can be on a wedding day. Simple things like people asking you lots of questions can really eat up time as I need you to be still for makeup. Simple hair and makeup is much shorter than this time frame though.

I hate being late, I always confirm, and I have great backup makeup and hair people who I know I can call at the last minute if there is ever a disaster like car trouble or illness standing in my way.

I have 12 years experience, I am punctual and organised but don't rush my work. I love making my clients look and feel beautiful.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

To get the most accurate quote I like to know what is the occasion. What is the result /style you want. What is your hair type eg, straight, wavy, curly or extremely curly. Hair length, short, med, long, or very long.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

You can provide your own bar lashes if you want to save on that. I still use my own professional glue as I know it stays on.  People who have very curly hair who want a soft relaxed curl could have it washed and blow dried before, even the evening before so I can re-curl it into a softer curl. More of a time saver but you can get cheap blow dries if you go to a hairdressing school or ask for a better price on your blow dry if the apprentice does it, not all salons will do this but some can. I'm still happy to do this step myself at an extra cost but you could always compare my price to a salons price.

I use exclusive professional products such as issada, gorgeous cosmetics, and Kevin Murphy hair products to name a few. My level of study also means high standards so I feel I'm not the cheapest or the most expensive considering I offer these things.

It can change depending on the hair type and amount of hair someone has. Price can also go up for bar lashes (they cost me more to buy than individual lashes and take longer to apply. ) Price also goes up for airbrushing. Price can vary depending on distance of travel so there can be different prices for the call out fee.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I am a fully qualified hairdresser as well as having a diploma in makeup artistry. I have also done advanced training courses in my industry after completion of my certificates. I have also studied airbrushing and I'm qualified to do all aspects of makeup including some special effects.
