DSV Partners on request may provide copy professional indemnity insurance to our clients. Our professional work is conducted in accordance with the applicable code of conduct issued by the relevant authorities including Tax Practitioners Board and CPA Australia. These codes require us to act with Honesty and integrity, be Independence, maintain Confidentiality and remain Competence.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Our partners are passionate about accounting and finance. They have collectively over 40 years of experience. Each of them had a dream of owing a successful accounting firm and for that all the partners had professional qualification and work experience with some of the best accounting/business in world.   We now want to help our client with the experience we have accumulated over the years.

Our client a family-owned business, enjoying success driven by hard work and years of building credibility, he felt his previous accountant wasn't proactively identifying ways to support and grow his business.   DSV Partners identified that there is an opportunity to streamline the accounting function and make the business ready to face the challenges.   DSV Partners not only streamlined the accounting function but installed a monthly management reporting system which helped the client identify the problems and act.

We want our client to discuss with us their financial details so we can provide them a customised solution, however, as part of our KYC procedures we will request the following details:  1. The client's business structure; 2. Tax file number/ABN/ACN;  3. Personal details for non-business clients;and 4. Details of work for which we are requested to quote.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Here are few tips which not only will help save money but have a better work life balance as well:  1.Move to a better accounting system i.e. from paper based to integrated accounting software or move to cloud based software;  2. Issue your invoices on the day your client has received goods, use of e-mail would be faster than posting invoices to clients;  3. Negotiate or renegotiate better payment terms with your suppliers and clients. Take advantage of the incentives offered by the suppliers for on-time payment and offer incentive to customers for early payment, use of technology would be better than writing/receiving cheques; and  4. Prepare a business plan/budget and review it on a regular basis.

Our professional fees are the product of the time taken by our personnel to perform services related to the engagement multiplied by the charge rate applicable to the person performing those services.  We also offer monthly and yearly contracts.
