Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

We most certainly are. As a member of the CPA, our professional indemnity insurance standards are set and of the highest industry standard. We also guarantee our work and will correct any of our errors at no cost to the client. Not, that we have ever had to do this.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I decided in grade 11 that I wanted to be an Accountant. At university I worked in undergraduate roles, mainly in taxation. I later decided taxation was not my passion and moved into the commercial sector. I now work to provide small business with the same quality accounts big business can afford.

What do you like most about your job?

I love helping business owners succeed financially.  So often I speak to business owners who are exceptional in their own field, but have no idea about what their obligations are in relation to PAYG, superannuation guarantee or GST etc and they just need some guidance in the right direction.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

If I was a customer, I would want to know what qualifications the person holds.  The bookkeeping industry is not regulated and does not require bookkeepers to hold a formal qualification, which can lead to business owners unknowingly engaging unqualified and inexperienced bookkeepers.

1.  Number of bank transactions per month and number of bank accounts held; 2.  Number of accounts payable transactions per month; 3.  Number of accounts receivable transactions per month; and 4.  Number of employees within the business.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

* Ensure that they have all their receipts and invoices together for us to easily enter into the software. * Have all employee information, include employee details, TFN declarations and super guarantee forms available for us. * Ensure that all available bank feeds are connected with Xero, or your other accounting software.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Most our clients are charged on a fixed fee basis, as we believe this is the best option for our clients. If a client comes to us and their bookwork is not up to date, they will be charged on an hourly basis, until caught up.

Certified Practising Accounting (CPA) Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from QUT Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) Over 15 years experience as an Accountant, with my most recent role as Finance Manager of a national company.
