Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Yes we have mandatory Professional Indemnity Insurance which is required as part of being a Chartered Accountancy Practice and all of our work and the work of our staff is guaranteed by the Firm.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I began an accounting job whilst studying an Accounting and Business Law degree at University. Initially, I thought I would become a lawyer but found that I got great enjoyment from helping clients minimise their income tax and still do, today!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

We were engaged by a large construction company to assist them through some cash flow issues and in negotiations with the Australian Taxation Office on unpaid GST and other tax obligations. We not only saved the business but saved the taxpayer over $1.3 million in tax and penalties.

Make sure that you are using a professional. Many non qualified people claim to be professionals but check out their registration with the Tax Practitioners Board. Always do your research and look for online reviews from people whom have actually used their services.

Do you charge for phone calls and advice? No, typically we do not and we feel it is imperative that you feel comfortable calling us at any stage to ask the 'dumb question' or for advice. We would rather you ask the 'dumb question' than make the 'dumb mistake'.

We like to know the scope of work required, i.e. the taxpayers or entities that we need to lodge returns for and we also like to obtain some background information on the record keeping practices of the business to provide an accurate estimate of our costs.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

We recommend that clients have organised records. Often it can help to use a computer program like, MYOB, Quickbooks or Xero or other similar accounting packages but is not essential. For individual returns we offer the use of our FREE Ezetax Portal and Receipt Bank to keep receipts.

Our fees for work completed and advice provided are invoiced based on the hourly rate of the staff member performing the work. All costs are set out and agreed in advance via our engagement letter which sets out the terms of our engagement.
