Yes I am insured with Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants Inc. (AFCC). I guarantee that my work as your celebrant will be performed in a professional manner with all legal requirements followed.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Accepted Answer

As a former teacher I always felt that I had a huge responsibility in my profession and I still feel that now as a marriage celebrant. I like to be involved in things that make a positive difference. I consider education and marriage to be positive differences.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Accepted Answer

Perhaps the couple who came to meet me at my home and stayed for 3 hours enjoying nibblies, coffee and stout over lengthy conversations about soccer, football and their love story so far as a couple. Oh yes, and the games of darts that the groom had with my husband. Felt like they were family.

What do you like most about your job?

I don't even have to think about this question. It's definitely getting to know the couples and developing a relationship with them. Travelling this fantastic and exciting journey up and until those last words pronouncing that they are now married is an exciting buzz.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

I really believe that a customer knows from chatting with you either face to face or on the phone if you are right for them. Of course availability is the first question, some couples base their decision on price, others more on the person's experience . It's a personal thing.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Many of my couples ask where do we begin to start this process. Even ones that have been married before, because things change over time. After chatting I find that they always feel so much better because they now feel more in touch with the process. I always follow up with a checklist for couples.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

My relationship with couples is strictly 'for our ears only'. Because I am privy to your personal details and discussions that you have with me, details about your ceremony will not be shared with anyone else. Your personal paperwork will be kept in a locked filing cabinet.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I'm easy going with oodles of ideas to share with you. My style is professional, light hearted and relaxed. I provide my clients with exactly what they want in their ceremonies. I also register your wedding directly online with B,D&M to save you time.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

I would need to view Birth Certificates or current Passports and Driver's Licences ~ and if you have been married before paperwork to prove that the marriage has ended for whatever reason.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Be sure that you stick to your budget ~ little extras can pop up so be aware of these.  Make sure you book your venue, celebrant and photographer if possible 12 months before the ceremony date.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I try to aim my fee at middle of the road prices on the Coast. I know that the fees can vary quite a lot, but I believe for the amount of work that I do my fee is very reasonable.

How do you normally charge for your service?

My fee varies on where the wedding ceremony is going to be. If the ceremonial site means that I have to travel over $100 kms and a rehearsal on site is wanted then my fee would be $680 plus travel

I love being involved in all aspects of preparing a wedding ceremony that is unique and particularly focused on the couple, this includes elopements and renewal of vows.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I am a registered authorized marriage celebrant with the Commonwealth of Australia's Attorney Generals Office. I have been a celebrant for 9 years beginning in Melbourne in the beautiful winery area and now for the past 6 years on the gorgeous Sunshine Coast.
