Although I am very confident in my work I wouldn't dream of operating without insurance. Green Glove Carpet Cleaning is fully insured up to the amount of $10,000,000.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Wanting to work for myself for many years, but didn't have any trade behind me. I had a chat with a carpet cleaner who had come to my home to clean my carpets, I mentioned that I might one day give it a try myself. He offered to take me out on the job with him for a week to give me an idea of whats involved, and what to expect, so I did, and I was hooked.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I had a customer (lets call her Kerry) who was in quite a state after another carpet cleaner had damaged her old wool carpet by overwetting it and causing it to 'brown' in patches around her home. It was an end of lease clean, the keys were to be handed in in two days time and she was quite concerned about getting her bond back. Afraid to call the same carpet cleaner back in case he caused more damage, Kerry called me to ask for advice and wanting to know if anything could be done to fix it. I explained how 'browning' occurs and informed her that it could be repaired with a specific treatment. Feeling bad for Kerry because she had paid for the carpet once and understanding to a point why she didn't want to call the other cleaner back (especially after seeing the damage he had done)  I had started my business only 6 months prior to Kerrys call, so offered to fix the browning problem for half price, if she was willing to provide a review and recommend my name if she ever had the opportunity. Needless to say, the treatment worked well, and Kerry got all of her bond back. Kerry actually ended up moved interstate, so any referrals aren't much point, but she occasionally  contacts me to ask how the business is going.

Meeting different people every day and enjoying a chat ( if they have the time) Achieving good results and knowing that my customers are satisfied. Being my own boss.

How long does the carpet take to dry? Generally, steam cleaned carpet will take between 2 & 5 hours to dry. I have a specially designed fan that I can use from room to room that  speeds up the drying process significantly. Using the fan does take a little longer, as I need to periodically stop cleaning to move it, so a small fee needs to be added, but if drying Is a high priority, its well worth it.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I don't overbook myself to ensure that I can arrive on time every time. If unforeseen circumstances should occur that might affect my arrival time, I will call my customers to inform them that I might be late. I'm more than happy to spend extra time on a job (another reason I don't overbook)  should any areas require extra attention. I like to be sure that my customers are completely  satisfied that I've done all I can to achieve the final result.

I am professionally trained & accredited in carpet & hard floor cleaning (tile & grout) & fully insured. I don't mind spending extra time on a job to ensure that my customers are satisfied with the results. Most of my work comes from word of mouth, which I am proud of, as this means my customers are happy to recommend me to their family & friends.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

The condition of the carpet to be cleaned - heavily soiled carpet requires a little extra work, so knowing this beforehand enables me to give a more accurate quote. The size of the rooms can sometimes affect a final quote. Hallways are sometimes forgotten, don't forget to add them when totaling up the number of rooms to be cleaned.

Honestly, nothing I can think of. Green Glove Carpet Cleaning doesn't charge extra  for the moving of furniture or pre-vacuuming, 2 things  that other carpet cleaners may charge for, so all of  my customers can save money by actually doing less.

My prices are currently one of the cheapest in Melbourne, I don't have any hidden fees that will surprise my customers on the day of the job. Being a relative newcomer to the industry, my main concern at the moment is too ensure I have a great reputation as a carpet cleaner To get the work, I'm happy to provide lower than average prices

Carpet cleaning prices are quoted per room. Tile & grout cleaning prices are quoted by the square metre. Upholstery cleaning is quoted per seat ( 3 seater couch = 3 seats) ext.
