Frequently asked questions
What do you like most about your job?
What I like most about my job is the trust. The trust a dog slowly builds with you, and the trust their humans place in you when they hand over something so important to them. I genuinely love getting to know each dog as an individual. Their personality, their quirks, the way they communicate without words. Watching a nervous dog grow in confidence, or seeing the pure excitement when you arrive for a walk, never gets old for me. There is something grounding about being around animals. They are honest, present and uncomplicated in the way they connect. Being able to provide care that makes them feel safe, enriched and understood is incredibly rewarding. I also value the relationships built with owners. Knowing that I can give someone peace of mind while they are at work or away, and knowing their dog is happy and well cared for, is something I take seriously. At the core of it, I like that my work is built on care, trust and consistency. It feels meaningful in a very real and practical way.
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
One of the most common questions I get asked is whether I have experience with different types of dogs, especially nervous, reactive or high energy dogs. I always explain that I have worked with dogs of all sizes and temperaments through daycare and volunteer shelter work. I focus on calm handling and positive reinforcement, and I take the time to understand each dog rather than using a one size fits all approach. - Another common question is about safety. Clients want to know how I manage walks, other dogs, weather and unexpected situations. I let them know that safety is always my priority. I assess the environment, avoid high risk situations, monitor body language and never push a dog beyond what they are comfortable with. In Brisbane heat, I adjust walk times and intensity to ensure dogs are safe and not overexerted. - People also ask how updates work. I reassure them that I provide clear communication, including messages and photos, so they can feel connected and at ease while they are away. I understand how important that peace of mind is. - A lot of clients ask whether I am comfortable entering their home. I explain that I treat every home with respect and care. I am organised, reliable and understand the responsibility that comes with being trusted with someone’s space. - Sometimes people ask what makes me different from larger pet care services. I explain that I keep things intentionally personal. I do not rush from booking to booking or treat dogs as numbers in a schedule. Each dog receives genuine one on one attention, tailored to their personality, energy level and needs. I take the time to build familiarity and trust, so your dog knows who I am and feels comfortable with me. That consistency matters. It creates a calmer experience for the dog and more peace of mind for you. For me, it is not just about completing a service. It is about showing up fully, being present, and making sure your dog feels safe, understood and cared for every time.
