How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Around 30 years ago I found that at the time I needed to have my own roof restored and found it difficult to find a reputable company,  As I had previous painting experience and a good head for business I saw niche in the market and the business grew from there.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

We have lots of memorable stories to tell, but probably the most memorable is a very satisifed customer who could not get a small job done in a short time frame.  We were able top help him out and he called around to the office to personally thank myself and the staff for a great job.  Following that we did a further two rental properties of his.

What do you like most about your job?

I find my job as the Director very rewarding to speak to the customer, give them advice on their roofing needs and talking about the product that we use and the benefits of the finished restoration.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

It would be in the customer's best interest to ask how long the company has been in business, is the company insured, does the company have a licence and we would suggest to the customer to check our website to see how the company operates.

The customer enquiry about the process of the job, the expected time it wil take to complete.  The job is always overseen by a foreman and check for quality assurance which is important to the business and the customer.

Because we believe we are very good our job.  As we have been doing this for 30 years we are proficient in the industry and always promise to deliver and give the customer attention and value for money.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

We always try to find our where the customer has sourced our company.  We find the type of roof and the work they require to be done.  Of course we get there address and phone details and book a time to suit both parties.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

If you are having a full roof restoration it is advantageous to clear the surrounding area so waste water does not do any damage to property or accessories around the house including the car.

How do you normally charge for your service?

On inspection of the roof a full report is done.  The roof area is measured and repair/replacement of tiles is taken into consideration when costing the job will depend upon the style of house either hiset or low set, the pitch of the roof.  All of these factors will be spoken about with the customer.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We specialise in full roof restorations which includes cleaning, repairs to any broken tiles, or repair to a tin roof than painting the prepared roof.  While this is the main aspect of the business we also do minor job creating customer satisfaction.

We have the right people, fully qualified tradesmen, ongoing training, good management skills and a balance of staff that work well together and also we have a very good customer base.
