Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

I am a member of the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants. Insurance is covered as part of our membership. I have a happiness guarantee. What that means is when you are planning your marriage ceremony you can have as many changes as you like until you are happy. You are able to have as many meetings and as many phone or zoom calls as you like to arrange your marriage ceremony the way you want. And if you need to postpone your ceremony for any reason that is ok, there won't be any additional charges.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

It was my husband who became a celebrant first. I found myself assisting him, and I very quickly realised that becoming a celebrant would be something I would love to do. Now he assists me.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Accepted Answer

I decided to have a sleep in and was woken up by a bride sobbing because she had just seen the news and we were going to shut down at 6 pm and she was supposed to be getting married the next day. Through her tears, she asked if we could bring her wedding forward to today. The only thing I could say was of course we can, she was my priority and what time? I sprung out of bed and got organised. I had to postpone appointments and reprint the marriage certificates and put the p.a. on to be charged. Life happens and as a celebrant brides are always your priority. Within a few short hours, guests were notified, the reception venue was able to organise finger food and the wedding party was together. The photographer was able to be there. We had an amazing wedding. There was no hair and makeup that had been planned and things were improvised but it was amazing and we had one very happy bride and groom. The thing that mattered most was that they were married. Everyone was happy we beat lockdown, It is incredible what can be pulled together in a few short hours when people are focused.

What do you like most about your job?

Laughing with people. Having the opportunity to be with couples at their best. Feeling the love as you say your vows and being part of that is amazing. Celebrating with couples and empowering them to change their lives.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Accepted Answer

Your relationship with your celebrant is all about connection. When you talk to someone you know within seconds if you have a connection. Instead of asking your potential celebrant questions, talk to them about what you want for your wedding day and listen to how they respond.  If you find yourself chatting comfortably and smiling then you will probably work well together. If not then contact someone else.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

One question people ask especially since covid is what happens if we shut down. My answer is that is not a problem. We will reschedule without additional charges. This is the case no matter what happens. Remember your NOIM will be valid for 18 months, so if there is a change of date during that time it is not a problem. Life happens so it pays to be flexible.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

What you see is what you get with me. If we don't connect and feel good about each other then I will suggest you look at a different celebrant. Your wedding is an important day for you so that connection is most important. I go with what I feel and it works.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Accepted Answer

I am a down to earth fun-loving Aussie who is focused on you and what you want. I am a good listener. Your wedding is the way you want to have it. I will do most things, except jump out of a plane. When we are together on your wedding day and leading up to it. You are my only priority. However you want your day to run, I will help you to make it happen.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

This planner gives information on what to research over the 12 months and also includes ideas for after your wedding. If you have a shorter time frame, that's ok. Just adapt it to what is right for you.

What makes your pricing competitive?

When I buy anything myself, I always like to feel that I have value for money. I follow this with your marriage ceremony. It is my intention to offer the best value and service for the price point. I have developed so many resources for you to use to design your marriage ceremony that everything is easy. What this means for you is you are able to receive value in saving time and money and have exactly what you want for your marriage ceremony.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

I have pricing that reflects the amount of work that I do to create the type of ceremony you want and to complete documents and lodgement. If you are eloping with your witnesses at my home I have a standard price of $395. Outside of my home, a simple wedding with a little personalisation is $495-595. My signature marriage ceremony where you share your love story is $595-$695. I don't have any restrictions on the number of phone calls, meetings or amendments you can have. My priority is on you having what you want. It is up to me to get it right.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I focus on weddings where people are down to earth basic people who want to have an awesome wedding day to celebrate. I work best with people who are authentic, people who love and respect each other and want to have their wedding that suits them. I specialise in working with couples who like to laugh and be happy on their wedding day.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Like all Authorised Celebrants, I have completed my Certificate IV in Celebrancy and Examinations with the Attorney General. What sets me apart from most other celebrants is the complete focus that I have making your day awesome.  I have some wonderful additional qualifications in Results Coaching, and Reiki which can help you with your mindset if you are getting stressed, qualifications in wedding planning and business which can help you with ideas and tools and the incredible experience that I have had both in Australia and overseas arranging events.  Being a prize-winning speaker ensures you that no matter how many people you have for your ceremony you can be confident that I will manage your ceremony the way you want.
