Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

I am a fully insured business, with 20 million dollars worth of cover.  It is not a legal requirement for a celebrant to be insured in Australia so please always ask to see a current insurance certificate.

Not unless it is a current rule due to increased case numbers.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I was married just as the Marriage Celebrant program was starting.  I had no input into my church ceremony, no input into the music and my wedding was the second of three held on the same day the ceremony felt impersonal.  I decided that I wanted to make weddings special for every couple

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I performed a ceremony for a couple who met as the bride was recovering from a liver transplant.  On their wedding day as part of the ceremony they placed three roses in memory of grooms father and grandmother who had passed away and for the person who donated the brides new liver.

I love meeting a couple who only know they want to be married and guiding them through the steps they need to take to make sure they have a beautiful ceremony personalised ceremony that is perfect for the two of them.

Ask your service vendor are you fully insured?  Can I see testimonials? Are you certified and your qualifications up to date?

How many weddings do you do in a day? One. How much do you charge? I have three packages for you to pick from ranging from $600.00 to $800.00. What happens if you get sick and cannot do our wedding? I have an arrangement with a group of celebrant friends to take over if one of us gets sick.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I am a full service celebrant, from the first phone call I take time to listen to what you want for your special day.  Your ceremony is yours alone not a copy with the names changed.  I take care of all legal paperwork both before and after your ceremony.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Before I can proceed with work for a client I need to know the date, place and time of their ceremony.  I also need to know a few personal details before I can fill out a Notice of Intended Marriage if it is for a marriage ceremony.  The information needed would be advised when client contacts me.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

To save money before you start working with me make sure you have original copies of your forms of id.. Either your birth certificate or your passport Your drivers license or form of photo ID If you have been married before have proof of how the marriage ended by divorce decree or death certificate.

What makes your pricing competitive?

There are no hidden additional charges with my prices.  What I quote is what you pay, unless the client changes their mind to include an item that I have to pay a third party for.  All price additions are discussed with the client fully before being added.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Once the booking is confirmed I require a non-refundable booking fee or $200.00 which confirms that I take no more bookings on your date and the fee quoted. The balance is due no later than 7 days before the ceremony. This can be paid in one sum or by a number of pre-arranged payments.

I love all aspects of my work.  To meet with people who only know they wish to have a ceremony but have no idea how to proceed and after meeting them craft a ceremony that is just what they wanted is the best thing about what I do.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I am a fully trained celebrant authorised by the appropriate government department to marry couples anywhere in Australia.  A requirement of my appointment is that I do ongoing professional development each year to improve my skills and knowledge.
