How did you decide to get into your line of work?

During my studies of Engineering at University I needed part time work. Even after finishing my degree I decided to continue in the building industry as a tiler.

One of my clients paid too much for a bathroom renovation that was very subpar. Water leaks, lipping tiles and bad service. When we redid the job at a cheaper rate and to perfection standards, she was overwhelmed to the point of tears. We are still friends to this day.

For the level of tiling and service we provide, our prices are competitive with the building industry standards. We have dropped our prices recently to match the increase in competition of our industry.

How do you normally charge for your service?

We normally charge a square meterage rate for most homes. Smaller renovation, repair or difficult tiling is charged at an hourly rate of $60/hr.
