We are insured and have professional indemnity.  We can't guarantee an outcome as there are too many variables but we guarantee to provide our advice regarding all your options and the potential benefits and consequences of each.

We have lots of great customer stories of keeping or getting people out of jail.  Getting fines reduced or completely waived ($30,000 in fines completely waived Sep 2014)   Helping people to resolve family law issues without it turning into an expensive fight.    Helping people to begin spending time with their children after bogus allegations against them.   The list goes on!

What do you like most about your job?

We like helping people to get out of trouble and get back in control of their lives and keeping them away from unscrupulous law firms who take advantage of people who don't know the ropes.    Our team really care about our clients.

How much will it cost? How long will it take? Who will be representing / working with me? How do I know that you will represent my best interests not recommend action that just makes money for you?  Some of these questions are a bit like asking how long is a piece of string but the answer will tell you a lot about the ethics and practices of the legal firms you are considering.

How much will it cost?   Where possible we provide the cost of our services upfront. In the case of court appearances we have a per appearance rate as it is not always possible to know how many appearances will be required to reach a resolution.

Kenna Law is upfront and honest about our fee structure.  You know where you stand.    We have the experience to represent you in court with a track record of hundreds of successful court appearances.

We look after you, give you honest advice based on what you need not what is going to be most profitable for us. Fixed fees and upfront quotes are used where we can to give you certainty and control over your legal matter.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

If you require court representation we need to know which court and the date to ensure we have a solicitor available.   Family Law work requires a consultation before we can provide any guidance to price. You may just need a few hours work to provide legal advice on a mediation proposal and to write up an agreement or it may be twelve or eighteen months of hard slog through the family court to get you more time with your children.    Free initial consultations are offered.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1- Gather any documents you have regarding your matter  2 - Draw up a timeline of what happened when so that you can give us all the information we need to represent you 3 - Family Law - keep the conflict down and try to negotiate directly or via a mediator to reach agreement regarding your money and/or children.  We'll provide advice and document at a much lower cost than an adversarial divorce.

We use fixed fee services where possible and don't charge for phone calls and letters.  You get the certainty of knowing what you'll be paying and the ability to have a conversation with your lawyer without feeling like you're on a timer.

Our fees range from $250 - $350 an hour however we make use of Fixed Fees where possible such as for our court representation.   You save money with fixed fees because we don't charge for every letter, phone call or email.

Our principal Paul Kenna has over 30 years experience in general legal practice ranging from conveyancing, court representation and legal advice for business owners.
