I guarantee it in the sense it will be a sound structural job with an even and pleasing finish, with the minimums regarding reinforcement and curing times. I do all I can to stop cracks but very rarely thry happen so do not guarantee against them.

Satisfaction of creating a perfect driveway... Seeing the bewilderment in clients faces when you do that in 1 day. Cant beat it

Word of mouth is King. My work is predominantly referrals or from sending potential clients to past clients houses with their permission, Trust is earnt so seeing the proof of ability is crucial.

How many m2 is crucial. What type of concrete you want. When you want it done. Is their drainage to go in? Soakwells? gutters? IS excavation needed? Is access good.

-Have excavation completed to - 80/100mm of finished floor level, always surplus to my m2 rate. -Clear access to job site... the less guys I need to get the concrete to that point equals $ for you. -A friendly attitude seriously helps when I'm home later typing the final quote

What makes your pricing competitive?

Times are tight... I'm rarely the cheapest so I guess im not competitive in that sense... I win jobs by the attention to detail on my emailed quotes, making a client feel comfortable in my knowledge of my trade, and being sincerely interested in what they want in a final product.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Generally I expect a deposit of up to 50% whatever the clients comfortable with. But certainly something. Most always a m2 rate for different types of concrete

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I really enjoy exposed aggregate concrete, the detail needed, the result, I love that it is becoming the standard for driveways.. I enjoy providing colored concrete and limestone options with an edge to suit finer budgets.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Accepted Answer

I'm a trade qualified concreter for 18 years, no qualification on paper as such when I did my time, experience is everything with concrete as you get one chance, and any mistakes or miscommunication will cost you very dearly. Also I'm a qualified carpenter, at 26 doing cert 3 carpentry.
