We are fully insured and guarantee the work performed.  As a CPA Practice, we are bound by professional standards of our occupation, as well as subject to supervision by the ATO, ASIC and the Government.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

The last 15 years, I have worked for high net worth individuals and families in Queensland in helping them build wealth through businesses and property.  I wanted to utilise these skills to help small business and individuals to do the same.

I had a potential client come to me to enquire about submitting 6 years of tax returns as they had got behind on their paperwork initially and then got even harder to complete. I spent the time to work through all the documentation and managed to secure the client a refund in excess of $12,000 and bring their tax up to date.

I enjoy building long term relationships with clients and helping them protect, but mostly build wealth.  My job allows me to follow my passion for finance and helping people navigate through the complexity.

Q1. Should I set up a Self Managed Superannuation Fund Answer: If you have sufficient funds (I recommend at least $250,000) and you wish to take control of where your money is invested, then yes you should consider this.  Q2. Should I set up a company or a family trust for investment purposes instead of invest under my own name? Answer: This is a difficult as it depends on your circumstance. Generally, a company is best where you potentially have liabilities that you want quarantined in a separate legal entity. Also, generally, a family trust is good where you wish to distribute profit to different and various people each year to help minimise tax.

I am highly qualified, a have 18 years of industry experience. I am also the Founding Partner of Liberate, and wish to build long term relationships with clients which can only be done by providing superior customer service.

1. Keep all your receipts organised; 2. Use your smartphone to photo/scan your receipts as you get them (in case you lose them). You can also send these to your accountant. 3. Provide last years tax returns.

In most circumstances, we provide a fixed fee for service based on the estimated time it will take to complete. Where this cannot be done, we communicate regularly with the client to ensure approval is sought before additional work is undertaken.
