Following my retirement from teaching, I was looking for some part time work that would bring me in touch with other people, utilise the skills I had learned in my career and be a positive influence in my life.

I love the interaction with a range of different individuals, the organising and creation of personal and beautiful marriage services and officiating on such a happy occasion.

Through my long career as a secondary school teacher, reliability, honesty, hard work, integrity, and the ability to understand and meet the needs of many different types of individuals were the foundations for the 40 years I had in this rewarding profession. These I have carried into my celebrancy

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Accepted Answer

I need to know personal details such as address, occupation, marital status, date of birth, place of birth and details of parents. Clients must provide me with proof of their place and name of birth, evidence of the termination of previous marriages and photo ID.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I am happy to receive cash if that is convenient or receive payment by electronic transfer. Unfortunately, I do not accept credit or debit card payment

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

While I specialise in all types of marriage ceremonies, I am happy to conduct renewal of vows, commitment and naming ceremonies. I also feel privileged to be able to help people through their journey of grief after the loss of a loved one by conducting beautiful and heartfelt funeral services

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

As a former high school teacher, I have the confidence and skills to communicate effectively and deliver ceremonies and services to a high standard. I have a Certificate IV in Celebrancy which qualifies me to conduct marriage ceremonies anywhere in Australia
