How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I am really creative and I love drawing and colouring and painting. So I sort of fell into makeup. I would paint my face each halloween as I really enjoy SFX makeup. Then I would glam my friends and family and it really just took off from there.

What do you like most about your job?

I love the creativity! Being a makeup artist really ignites my creative side. I love drawing, painting and colouring. Being able to do this on a face is just amazing. I also love makeup, the process from start to finish. Plus the happy faces from my beautiful clients makes my job really enjoyable.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

I often get asked if clients should bring there own makeup. I have the best stocked makeup kit, that take so much pride in. I have everything to cater to any makeup request.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I always arrive on time and take punctuality very seriously. I also send confirmation texts at least 2 days before the scheduled tome of appointment.

Always on time! I have very high standards with my makeup. I would say I’m a perfectionist. I also keep a very well stocked pro makeup kit that I am very proud of.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

The location, date and time for appointment. What also is great to know during a quote is the makeup look you are after.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I don’t have a high travel fee. So I think this does keep my prices competitive compared to other artists. Being fully mobile is also great as I come directly to the client.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I accept cash payments or payments via card on my Square device. I can also issue on the spot receipts.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I do love a classic smokey eye, definitely my most requested makeup look. I also love doing SFX/theatrical makeup. I also get so much satisfaction creating a perfect smooth foundation base, that’s long lasting.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I am a fully qualified makeup artist. I studied at QC Makeup Academy for 1 year. I attended trade shows annually to continue learning and I always have a well stocked professional makeup kit.
