How did you decide to get into your line of work?

When l was Studying Fine Arts,l fell into Make-up Artistry during this time as l had an opportunity to work on a short film and fashion shoot via my Art teacher who was very involved in the Arts &creative scene and had many contacts. She admired my make-up skills on me and the rest is history!

I've been very lucky to have the beautiful and grateful clients both Freelance and on counter throughout the years with endless personal thank you notes and gifts expressing their joy from their experience with me which keeps reminding me why l love my job!!

What do you like most about your job?

My biggest passion is my creativity and expressing it! I have spent decades in the field of the Arts as it is,without doubt,what l am born to do!  I've had an incredible journey working on Film sets & Shoots, Sydney & Melbourne Fashion week, Celebrities, and just making my girls look & feel amazing!

From all my years of experience in the Freelance and Retail industry ,l have learned and refined my attributes of Reliability and Trustworthiness doing countless jobs and as a Senior Artist uphold the highest level of professionalism in all areas in my work.

I've been fortunate to have spent nearly 30 years working on my craft as an Artist and half of that in Cosmetic Retail. 9 years perfecting my skills at MAC,and the remainder in roles as State Make-up Artist for both prestigious Brands YSL & DIOR. I love what l do and it shows in my work!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Typical information l ask is what is the occasion and what the client is looking for as an end result( how involved is the make-up)   What additions is required ie: fake Lashes,embellishments, Time and place,Travel distance, How many PP, Availability,  Are touch ups required later?  Any skin issues?

Considering my many years of experience and training l have build up in various areas of the industry, my prices are on par with those in the same field. My client is in capable hands and will receive the best result that she deserves because l LOVE what l do!!

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Individuals may run from :$95 up to $130 Depending on circumstances, additions and Travel cost. Wedding parties decrease in price when numbers increase.POA.  Formals/Students: $85-$95 + Travel cost. Lessons:POA

Specialising in Special events, Weddings, Fashion, Editorial, Lessons, Head-shots, Film & Runway. Focusing on Wedding parties, Formals,Special events and have a real passion and talent for teaching my craft due to my vast experience running Technique & Masterclasses.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Studied Fine Arts and fell into Make-up Artistry during this time when l had an opportunity to work on a short film and fashion shoot in '87 and it continued from there.. 16 years in Cosmetic Retail,9 of that at MAC, followed by roles as 'State Make-up Artist' for both prestigious Brands YSL & DIOR.
