Celebrancy is such a joyful occupation. I love doing all ceremonies, even funerals, which can be very fulfilling when it is clear that I have helped a family through a difficult moment in their lives.

There are many questions, especially in relation to weddings. I just run through everything at an initial meeting, as I know what questions need answering. Couples usually say that I have covered all they wanted to know.

I have a teaching background in English, so my ceremonies are well written and correct. (Not all celebrants have a command of spelling and grammar!) I am a stickler for being on time and always arrive some time before the ceremony starting time. People say I speak well.

I have had wonderful testimonials over my many years as a celebrant and I always do my very best to make the ceremony as personal and as perfect for the couple or family as it can possibly be.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I know from clients who have booked with me, that some celebrants charge a much higher fee than I do. There are a few cheaper ones too, but I warn that in some cases, you get what you pay for.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I have a fee for weddings in general. I may add a travelling fee should the venue be far away. There is a small fee for rehearsals unless in my vicinity.

With a Celtic background, I do offer Celtic elements in a ceremony. It can be quite beautiful.

I am a fully qualified and authorised celebrant. I have two university degrees, one in teaching and one in literature. I also have a counselling qualification, which just helps me to understand people and their feelings.
