Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

Yes I am insured for public liability and copyright. I guarantee every aspect of the work I provide.  It must comply with the requirements of he Marriage Act of 1961 for weddings.  With all other ceremonies I enter into a signed agreement with my clients which is a legally binding agreement.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

An old friend asked me why I wasn't a celebrant - the idea had never occurred to me - and I had a 'realisation moment.' That was many years ago now  - I am forever grateful to my friend...

What do you like most about your job?

Accepted Answer

I love being able to give couples their dream wedding. When I receive the letters and email  etc. from couples after it is all over - that is what makes it all worthwhile.  Too on the day to see everything a couple wants coming to life - it is very humbling and very, very special.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

As many as they can as being a celebrant is all about finding the perfect fit and trusting that the celebrant will and can do what they say they can do. I would never suggest appointing a celebrant before meeting them and seeing whether you feel totally comfortable that they will be the one for you.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Q. What if I forget my Vows? A You can repeat them after me or read them from an attractive card. After your rehearsal you are usually fine but I am there on the day to prompt you regardless. Q What if I make a mistake? A Except for the legal vows - it doesn't matter as long as it is genuine.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

My reputation as a celebrant is well known.  I was a finalist again this year (2015)  in the ABIA (Australian Bridal Industry Academy) Awards Qld. I am a current member of AMC Australian Marriage Celebrants Inc, an active Justice of the Peace Qualified and bring total integrity to my profession.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Before I provide a quote I need the place, the date, the approximate time of your Ceremony and  whether it is an elopement or a full wedding Ceremony. For other Ceremonies I usually have a fixed price.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Me fee varies depending on the day of the week (it is less expensive on a week day) and the amount of preparation required on my behalf.  A week day elopement is much less expensive than a full wedding on a Saturday afternoon. Just ask and I'll give you an indication...

I specialise in making every Ceremony I conduct to be hassle free, enjoyable, heartfelt, genuine, unique, inclusive, audible (through my husband providing top of the range PA at no additional cost to you) and unforgettable - for all the right reasons!
