Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

I have company insurance under my event business and company name. Yes I guarantee my work. I have yet to have an unsatisfied customer and would never leave until we got the look right.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Accepted Answer

I was a professional dancer and choreographer as well as modelled a little and worked in events with models. I was always good at Hair and Makeup so it just seemed natural to head in that direction. Particularly once I had children. It gave me flexibility so I could still spend time with them.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I have so many but a girl who’s makeup I did the other day went to see what she looked like in the mirror and burst into tears.. I thought she hated it but she said they were tears of joy and she’d never felt so beautiful. I was so happy but wanted her to stop crying so she wouldn’t ruin her makeup! I have a lot of stories like that.

What do you like most about your job?

Honestly.. EVERYTHING! I love meeting so many great people and having a good laugh with them. I leave hearing their story. Making people look and feel good about themselves is so rewarding for me. Be warned I have a bad habit of picking up new friends out of clients haha

What experience do you have with their particular needs. For example if you need someone to do an 80 year old mother of the bride you don’t want them doing a 20 year old festival look on them if they are a one trick pony! Experience and quality, I believe is more important than saving a few dollars. What do they say about paying peanuts...

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

What brands do you use: kryolan, Mac, Napoleon, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Wasp, L’Oreal, basically many high end brands. I seem to have a little of everything in my kit. I am using more “Silk Oil of Morocco” products these days as they are beautiful, organic and cruelty free.  Can I come to you: yes I have a home studio and the quote will be cheaper for you to come to me but happy to travel to you.

Well growing up as a professional dancer you understood what commitment was. I was taught to never let the team down, once committed to something you just don’t pull out. I also have years of experience and clients that can support my trustworthiness.

I am a great H&MUA friendly, reliable and put everyone at ease. I listen to what you want and deliver. I love having a laugh too and will bust out a song or dance if the mood takes me.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

The best things to know aside from date, type of service and number of people would be what time you would like to be ready by at the latest and any specifics to the look that are out of the ordinary such as glitter eye shadow, 60’s or 80’s pink eye shadow for example. If they are wanting an updo.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Haha there isn’t really a way to save money here but you can optimise your result by having clean, dry hair with your usual product in it before we start. Clean skin too without makeup. Exfoliating and moisturising skin the night before will help too.

For the experience I come with and having done so many styles of hair and makeup over the years my pricing is very competitive. My price reflects my experience. Some maybe cheaper but often straight out of school with limited hands on experience.

I am happy to take cash or you can bank transfer prior to the date of the booking. We can discuss payment options if you would prefer another method.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Not really. I love doing glamour makeup as much as I enjoy wedding or natural photo shoot makeup. I really love doing curls and updo’s are fun too. So I am pretty confident in it all.
