How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I studied accountancy as a trainee for a large company and eventually became a financial controller. In 1997 I changed career direction to concentrate on my own accountancy practice

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Many of my customers have remained with me for many years. I usually get satisfaction when people are many years behind with their tax returns. This usually causes them to worry and they hesitate with their returns causing more worry. When i help them get up to date and see their worries disappear i feel very satisfied.

What do you like most about your job?

I like meeting people and helping them. Because i am mobile i can generally prepare returns at my customers home or office. This makes the job easier for the customer as only one visit is usually required. This keeps costs down as well.

I usually make appointment to prepare returns after normal business hours, so i can make appointments to suit the customer.

Customers can save money by having their documents in order so that it is quicker to obtain relevant information,  For customers unsure of what is required, I show them when I am doing their work.

My pricing is very competitive as i have been able to keep my overheads very low.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

A standard employee tax return is normally about $125. I also offer discounts for multiple return or multiple years . I am offering a $15 discount to new customers through One Flare.  Business activity statements also start at $125 but the charge will increase if additional work is required.

I specialise in individual and small business including gst returns

I have over 20 years experience in accounting and tax for all size businesses. Personal returns are no problem.
