Qld Security hold public liability insurance for $20 Million,   Alarm hardware is guaranteed for 12 months  CCTV cameras, Digital Video Recorders & Network video recorders are guaranteed for between 12 months & 5 years  14 day installation defects, programming and labour guarantee. All parts are covered by a specified warranty, labour is not included

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Started as a sales rep for ADT Security 15 years ago at an ambitious 18 years of age, after relocating to qld from Victoria in 2002 I was partner in a web design company but still naturally fell back into security sales with a local qld company, in May 2009 after running a sales office from Mooloolaba for 12  months we decided to proceed and open Queensland Security Pty Ltd and take on installation and entered an agreement to become an Authorised dealer for ADT

Beyond Security CCTV - advancements in CCTV technology are opening up a new market and many are realising the high quality footage of IP Cameras can be utilised in various ways one in particular an Indoor skate park had a custom made system that allows them to offer videos for purchase to their board riders, this would help offset the cost of the system while also give them a unique feature to their park. Other ideas we have are, photo booths and public events

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Check your phone bill - if you currently have a monitored alarm system you would be paying for calls to a central monitoring station, you can look for a 1345 number. if your system is false alarming constantly you could be left with a hefty bill in addition to your monthly monitoring fees.    Are you NBN Ready? - Many monitored alarm customers are being caught out when they have upgraded their phones systems from an analogue line to a digital phone line.   While phone costs will be down you will have to have a licenced installer switch the system over to digital line, currently there are limited options available for Monitored alarms on digital phones lines. GPRS ( IP Monitoring) often incurs additional monthly monitoring fees, you will also have to cover the cost of a GPRS module and labour costs associated.   Another option is GSM utilising the mobile phone network again upgrades to some alarm systems can be quite costly. On top of this if you switch over without having made appropriate changes your alarm system will not be able to communicate with Central Monitoring putting you at risk.   Consider a self monitored camera/alarm System - Qld Security offer Analogue and IP CCTV systems that can be monitored by having your system contact you directly bypassing monitoring fees. In the event of an alarm activation you can login and view CCTV to assess the site.
