Yes. I am a Member of the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants. All Members are covered by the Federation's Public Liability Policy. Details and copy of my Certificate of cover will be provided on request

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Accepted Answer

I was appointed Assistant Registrar NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages and was asked to celebrate a friend's wedding in an official Registry Officer role. I applied for registration when I left the job, I enjoyed the task that much.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I celebrated a marriage in the Bird Enclosure at Taronga Park for members of the Zoo staff. The couple had official witnesses of course but chose a Hawk as the "Best Man" and a Falcon as the "Brides Maid".

What do you like most about your job?

I celebrated my first marriage ceremony 30 years ago and I have enjoyed every ceremony. I have loved meeting the people and their families. I have returned from each ceremony thrilled to have been a close party to the joining of two beautiful people in wedlock.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Are you relaxed and pleasant throughout the ceremony? How should we stand during the ceremony? Can the bride's mother give me away? Can my children give me away. Is there an age limit on bridesmaids and groomsmen? Is there an age limit for witnesses?

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Q. Will you celebrate our own ceremony and marriage lines? A. Yes. However, there are some words that are required by law to be said by us. Q. How will you be dressed? A. Lounge suit usually, however, I will dress to suit the theme of your ceremony or in formal attire, eg. Dinner Suit, if that is your choice. Q. Are you exempted from celebrating Same Sex Marriages? A. No. Only Authorised Marriage Celebrants-Religious Celebrants are exempt from Celebrating Same-Sex Marriages.

Thirty years as an Authorised Marriage Celebrant with over 1,200 ceremonies celebrated celebrated. Former Assistant Registrar NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages. Historian and Published Author.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I am a mature Australia who presents neatly and I am told that I am generally a geneal person. I have had a wide experience with people from all walks in life. I have been communty minded, having served a term in the Royal Australian Naval Reserve, held a Dirctorship with a leading Credit Union for 12 year and held the position of National President of the Fellowship of First Fleeter for three years. Whilst I hold a University Degree, I actually left school at age 15 years and began my working life as a "Paper Boy" I rose to an executive appointment with the NSW Public Service.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

1. Both of you are free to marry or will be free to marry before your ceremony 2. You must have proof of Identity, Birth Certificate or Passports in some cases 3. One of you must formally give a minimum of one months notice before the ceremony is celebrated

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. I will visit you at your home or business 2. I do not charge mileage for interviews and cermonies held within 50 kilometers of Sydney CBD

What makes your pricing competitive?

Accepted Answer

$395 per ceremony. I come to you. Assistance with preparation of your marriage ceremony and vows. Help with obtaining Official Registered Certificate of Marriage and Apostles.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

I charge $350.00, including mileage, for each ceremony celebrated within 75 kilometers of Sydney CBD. Registered Certificate of Marriage ($56 fee) and Apostiles can be arranged. I include registration of your Marriage in my quote,

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Your Home or Business visit to complete Notice of Intention, prepartion of Ceremony and rehersal I will celebrate anywhere in Sydney, including on mid-weekdays, as well as on Sydney Harbour boats  Royal Botannic Gardens and other harbourside venues.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I meet the annual training requirements provided under the criteria set by the C'wealth Attorney General. I am a Univerity Graduate (BA) with a Degree in the Humanities. I am a published Author and a Historian.  I have been celebrating mariages for  thirty years now.
