Yes, I am covered under a scheme approved by Professional Standards Legislation. As a CA, Registered Tax Agent and public practitioner, I am obligated to keep this coverage in line with strict guidelines and minimum coverage levls.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I have always been great with numbers, and I have always had an interest in the law. Being an accountant is a great combination of both these skills, thus this career was very appealing to me.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

A client came to me with 5 years worth of outstanding income tax returns for their self-managed superannuation fund. Their last accountant charged them $2,200 to complete the financial statements, income tax return and audit.   I was able to produce the 5 years of returns for $1540 a year including audit, saving them over $3,000, plus managed to save them any late lodgement penalties by working with the ATO in a prompt method.  They were so happy with my services, they came on board with their personal tax returns and their business, which I again saved them $400 a year on my fees, but also managed to get them additional funds out of their business with little tax consequence.

The aspect I most enjoy about my job is assiting people. The ability to look at someones situation, and offer them assistance to maximise their refunds, or an option of the best tax structure, or a way to simplify their affairs brings me the most joy.

Q: What deductions are available to me? A: This varies far and wide, however, I have a checklist for my clients. There are also various ATO leaflets depending on your industry which offers advice on deductions available.

(i) Check out my website for SMSF tips on how to organise your documentation file and what information you will need to provide me with (ii) As an individual, email me for a checklist of information you should bring along to our first meeting (iii) Summarise your own receipts for deduction purposes and organise your workpapers. I will still need to see them, but if you have done all the adding up and summarising, you have saved yourself money from the very first time we catch up.

I charge in a variety of ways:  Individuals (i) by the complexity of the return I am completing (ii) by the hour  SMSFs (i) by the hour (ii) As a package in certain circumstances.  In all circumstances, you will find that I am very competitive in price, and exceptional in service.

I have a bachelor of commerce, with a double major in accounting and finance. I am a CA (Chartered Accountant) with a diploma in chartered accounting and I am a registered tax agent.
