Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

As An accountant and tax agent we have public liability insurance, however if a taxpayer whilst preparing the taxtreturn claims that he has receipts worth $500  and if audited cannot produce the recepts, the taxpayer will be liable not my practice. Although my firm abide with the code of professional conduct it has to be a two way street.

Lack of assistance by my fellow professionals. A customer wanted some advice about negative gearing, I sat with him on a Saturday morning for two hours  trying to explain why he could not borrow another  $100,000 to increase his expenses so he could claim for the next financial year. He was very misinformed by his previous accountant.
